Chapter 9: Strike a PoseThe Henry Elm shoot is at a studio in Hollywood, in a tall building surrounded by other tall buildings. Many fashion brands use these places for photos, and TV shows and movies are filmed on custom-built sets and soundstages. It’s half past six in the morning when Mr. Night and I cruise up to the faceless building in his Porsche. Hollywood is just waking up, the sun peeking out over the horizon. Mr. Night steps out of the car.
“You’re coming with?” I ask.
He grins. “I wouldn’t miss your first photo shoot.”
I feel uneasy as we approach the glass doors. Mugging for a camera is weird enough, but doing it in front of Mr. Night makes me feel even more awkward.
“Remember, don’t be nervous,” he says, reading my mind.
“It wastes everyone’s time,” I reply, quoting Lelan
