In the evening, after her bath, Narnia lay lazily on her bed, playing dead.
The scene with Beleren still fresh in her mind, his words echoing in her ears.
The person in the photo was her—how could that be?
But the events of the morning crazily suggested that it was indeed so!
Narnia turned her head to glance at the nightstand where the old photo album lay.
It was Jurassic who told her to take it, saying it might help her and hoping she could find out why his cousin had disappeared years ago and if someone had harmed him.
Suddenly entrusted with such an important task, Narnia felt quite overwhelmed.
She merely wanted to clarify the situation, but how did it lead to such a bizarre turn of events?
“Jurassic... who exactly are you?” she whispered.
Hugging a pillow, Narnia rolled on the bed. If she could really travel back in time, how would she do it?
She had already taken out the photo, trying various methods to time-travel again, but all in vain.
She almost resorted to burning it, but considering that turning the photo to ashes might not require fire, she abandoned the idea.
Narnia lifted her hand, looking at the watch on her wrist. The watch was real, a man named Jurassic had put it on her himself. Without a doubt, she had indeed met him.
Moreover, by his tone at the time, it seemed like she had seen him more than once...
The more Narnia thought about it, the more she felt something was off. This confusing feeling was awful, and she couldn't sleep. So, she decided to get up, slip into her slippers, and head downstairs.
When she left, she had also asked Beleren for all the DVDs of the movies Jurassic had starred in. Beleren was generous and gave them all to her in a box.
Sitting in front of the TV, Narnia started from his first film, in chronological order.
He began acting at the age of fifteen, playing a deaf-mute teenager in his first movie, with very few scenes, not even qualifying as a supporting actor.
However, due to his handsome looks and excellent acting, the film received a lot of attention upon release, marking the beginning of his acting career.Except for a few early roles in American films, most of his later films were shot domestically.
Narnia was surprised to learn that he had collaborated with many famous old directors in the past.
It was unimaginable that such a globally popular figure could truly disappear from history, without a single trace.
Even after more than thirty years, there should have been some rumors. The only explanation was that someone made him vanish, erasing his existence from the world.
If it weren't for these DVDs, Narnia would never have known that some of the movies she had seen before featured Jurassic. Either his scenes were cut clean or he was replaced by another actor.
That night, Narnia stayed up watching, which led to her being exhausted the next day at work. Barbara and Wayne Manor were concerned, asking if something was wrong.
Narnia waved them off, not wanting to discuss it and only inquired if Barbara had found out the owner of the license plate number she had asked her to check the day before. Barbara shook her head regretfully.
"I checked. The car was rented, and the renter used a fake identity. The car has been returned, and we're currently investigating the identities of the two black men based on the portrait you provided," Barbara reported honestly.
Narnia nodded. She was very curious to know who wanted to harm her, but she knew she couldn't be impatient.
Moreover, Narnia had a feeling that the two black men might be related to the accident case she was investigating from over thirty years ago, but why they targeted her was still a mystery.
For the past few days, Narnia couldn't sleep peacefully, always feeling a warm hand caressing her face and hearing a soft voice calling her in her ear.
"Narnia..."
"Narnia..."
"I'm waiting for you..."
When Narnia opened her eyes drowsily, she would see Jurassic sitting by her bed, gazing at her tenderly, and she would be startled awake!
Then she would realize it was just a dream.
Unable to sleep, Narnia would go downstairs to the living room to watch his films. While watching, she would only pause when the camera focused on his face.
After a few days of this, Narnia realized she was going crazy if she didn't find a way to see him!
This guy had been making her restless for days. She wanted to ask him what was going on.
But the more urgent she was, the less she saw him...
One evening, after work, Narnia bought some takoyaki from a street vendor nearby and sat on a small stool by the door to eat, next to a little girl named Krypton, who was l*****g an ice pop, looking adorable.
Narnia couldn't help but stroke the little girl's head, and Krypton grinned at her, softening Narnia's gaze.
Idle, Narnia took out the old photo she always carried with her and looked at it.Upon seeing her own image in the photo, Narnia always felt a sense of disorientation, as if the person in the photo wasn't her. Perhaps it was the intense feeling of nostalgia, considering it was a photo taken many decades ago.
Supporting her chin, Narnia couldn't help but whisper to herself, "I wonder who I was worried about in this photo? Why do I have such a look of anxiety?"
Creak!
Suddenly, a loud, creaking sound echoed from above. Narnia looked up just in time to see the neon sign flicker twice before it crashed down with a thunderous roar!
"Danger!"
Realizing she couldn't escape, Narnia's immediate reaction was to dive forward and protect the little girl beside her, covering her with her own body and holding her head securely!
Before the sign enveloped her, Narnia watched as the photo in her hand turned to dust and disappeared...
The last sound Narnia heard was a loud bang, followed by the distant notes of a piano, playing a familiar melody that seemed to flow like water into her ears—it was Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata."
When Narnia abruptly opened her eyes from the darkness, she was still surrounded by darkness.
Realizing she was in a confined space, Narnia instinctively felt along the wall for an exit. Feeling her way, she seemed to find a door. With a strong push, the door opened more easily than she expected, sending her tumbling forward.
"Ahh!"
Narnia exclaimed, and at the same moment, the piano music that had been playing ceased abruptly.
Rubbing her sore knee, Narnia sat up, grimacing in pain. Looking back, she realized she had fallen out of a wardrobe.
The large, elegant vintage European-style wardrobe was full of clothes. Before Narnia could take a closer look, a clear voice of a young boy sounded from behind her.
"You, who are you?"
Turning around, Narnia saw a young boy sitting in front of a piano by the window. His hands were resting on the keys, and his clear, bright eyes were fixed on her without a trace of fear or panic, an unusually calm reaction for a child seeing a stranger.
The boy was dressed in suspenders and a small suit, looking like a little gentleman. He even wore leather shoes. His attire was refined and expensive, but with a retro style, not as fashionable as today's children might dress.
Studying his face, with delicate features and fair skin, he could be described as a work of art.
However, the more Narnia looked at him, the more familiar the boy seemed. Had she seen him before? Those elegant eyebrows were strikingly similar to those of Jurassic, who had been on her mind recently.
As she pondered this, Narnia was taken aback.
Wait! Could this child actually be Jurassic?
