Soulsworn- Awakening

Chapter 10

Bridget chuckled as well, there would always be humor between them. 

"Heather, I need to do something and I can't explain it to you.." she began, "please don't ask any questions, you will know everything soon."

Bridget had already processed the teachings Ezzy left in her mind. She knew exactly how to perform the ceremony that would force Heather's powers to Awaken. She just needed Heather's trust and consent. Heather nodded quickly in response.

"Whatever you need, bestie, I trust you completely. Tell me what you want me to do," she said and Bridget smiled at the speed of her reply. She had her best friend's trust and now consent.

"Lay down on the bed with your right palm up," Bridget instructed and Heather did so. Bridget sat next to her friend on the bed, facing her and placed her left palm facing down on Heather's right. "Close your eyes Heather!" she ordered. As soon as Heather's eyes closed, Bridget brought the knife high in her right hand between them and then with great force stabbed the knife into their waiting hands. 

Heather's eyes flew open as Bridget's mouth opened and her inner music rang out. Bridget was bathed in the lilac glow of her own power. As her song continued, the pink cord of their Soulsister bond began to glow as well. Bridget stared into Heather's eyes and Heather's power began to glow, a soft gold. The song of their Soulsister bond joined Bridget's inner song, harmonizing perfectly. 

Bridget Felt the moment the ritual worked, it was as if a dam had broken within her best friend. There was a rush of light and sound, as Heather's own powers Awoken. A golden glow surrounded Heather as her mouth opened and her song came out. It was as unique as Bridget's own, gorgeous and pure.

Bridget Reached out with her powers to touch her friend's mind and send her into a deep slumber. Ezzy would be waiting to teach Heather everything she needed and Bridget would be right there to talk when she woke up. Bridget pulled the knife out of their hands and watched as the wound closed immediately. "Cool," she couldn't help saying out loud as she stared at her hand. There was not even a knick on the skin..

Bridget settled into the chair her best friend had been perched on earlier. While she waited for Heather to wake, she would practice the lessons Ezzy had put in her mind, to make them something she was in control of- not just operating on instinct.

She Looked with her mind at her surroundings. The energies were all around her, everything glowed with some form of light. The glow from Heather was muted only because her soul was not present at the moment. The energies of the body her soul carried was all Bridget could See at the moment. Bridget shook her head and reminded herself to practice.

So she Grounded her energies in the earth below her feet then Centered her energies within herself. These were the most important steps, the keys to not getting lost in the power of the energies you were trying to control. After that came your shields, these worked to keep out unwanted energies but would also stop her from Hearing and Feeling things from other people. Unless she wanted to lower them, she would be protected. It was quite clear that you were not to read people's thoughts without VERY good reason, mostly that gift just made mindspeech possible. Next she Looked at the energies around her, living things obviously gave of more light, but literally everything down to rocks had some sort of glow.

She Looked further away and could See how the energies had collected, just as Ezzy said. She could see why Ezzy said their world was attractive to those seeking power. Energy began in little trickles, then streams, then what could only be described as rivers until where she found it met in a vast pool that she would deem a lake. Six rivers joined here but there was one that continued to flow out of the lake. Bridget understood this outsource was important, energy that continued to pool could become stagnant and dangerous. Places she and Heather would eventually have to Heal...

She knew these energies were far to strong for her to touch for now, so she followed the "path" she had made back towards her body. Once she had found a very small "trickle" of energies, she Reached out with her mind and touched it.

She Felt the pleasant jolt move through her and continued the contact until she felt.. well, full.. Then was broke the contact and returned to her body and opened her eyes. She felt great, energized- as if she were ready for anything.

**Bridget! It's time! Meet us in the Forest!!**

Ezzy's voice rang out in her mind, Bridget's first Mindspeech. "Cool," Bridget said out loud, then laughed at herself. Well this was pretty cool..

**Ok! I'll be right there!!**

Bridget Sent the words back, thinking (well, hoping) she had done it right. She soon Felt Ezzy's wordless affirmation as reply.

Bridget nodded and smiled, she had done it right. She settled back in the chair and again Grounded and Centered. Then she built a magic shield around the entire house, no energies (or humans, etc) would be able to bother them now. With that done, Bridget broke from her body and let her spirit soar to the Forest.
