Eugene didn’t say anything as he led Anthony to the Dinky Dickie Donuts booth. There were still other workers around, cleaning up the patron seating and taking out the trash, but the building had been closed to carnival-goers for the past hour. Anthony parked his folded-down cart outside the donut shop and followed Eugene through the key-entry door. The great open windows over the glass cases, which would have been full of donuts during the daytime, were now covered by a metal wall, sort of like a stainless steel garage door.
