Everyone is talking and making conversation at the table while I prepare breakfast. Today is like any other day, or at least, it’s going on like every day before it. Except it isn’t like every other day. Shane plagues my thoughts and I have to pretend like I’m not tracking his movements. Gabe came down a few minutes after I got started. He bitched and groaned about his splitting headache and I couldn’t hold back the giggle that bubbled up. I turn and find Shane watching me, but we’re in a room full of people, so I turn from him and ignore him. After the food is prepared, we put everything on the table.
