The smile which always appears on his face whenever he thought of her was just incredible and he loved thinking about his bossy soon-to-be fake wife. His mind could not stop thinking about the possibility of Yvonne falling in love with him for real even though he could tell that she was already somehow attracted to him though she was playing hard to get.
The trip was not too long again and he was feeling all sad to know that, he was already late. Knowing the kind of lady Yvonne is, he could tell that he was into some hot pot of water as he had a lot of apologizing to do for appearing late.
"How dare he keep me waiting like this like I am some common girl?" Yvonne questioned in an angry tone not being able to believe that she was left alone to wait there like some low life. It was very difficult for her to digest what was going on and to think that he was the person who gave her the time for them to meet up turned out that he was nowhere to be found.
Time was passing by and she did not like to stay out late. She was not friends with the cold weather hence, did not love to be outside when the temperature was frozen. Sitting there alone and contemplating on what to do if Gael doesn't show up in the next 5 minutes, she was going to leave from there and terminate the contract.
Looking at the bottle of wine that she had brought when she was coming to the restaurant, her heart boiled with anger as she imagined the disrespect that Gael was giving to her and she did not love it at all. All her life, she had desired to be alone and not to have any attachments with anyone but due to her father's greed and wickedness, there she was faced with an absurd situation.
Breathing in and out as though she was not going to survive another minute, Yvonne did not want her frustration to seem too obvious as there were some people around. But the kind of pain that she was feeling deep down her soul, was one of a confused person. She was in constant denial of what she was starting to feel for Gael and she thought that it was the highest thing to do.
Being wrong on that matter as she was only hurting herself by doing that, she continued to feel frustrated and stupid as long as she kept on fighting it.
"It is just a deal and you have nothing to worry about girl. In some months everything will be settled and you both will be separated with each one of you going their separate ways happy and fulfilled," she muttered within her feeling like her world was crumbling.
Trying to convince herself of what was very obvious, Yvonne finally ended up drinking the bottle of wine she had come to the restaurant with. Her life was in shambles as far as emotional support was concerned and it looked like it was coming to be affecting her all life.
"What do you want from me and why are you surrounding me like this?" she asked looking all serious and wondering where they could have come out from.
"I can see that you have a slimming tongue and you act like you are not scared of anything huh?" One of the men asked looking all awful like he had not taken a bath for ages. He has this funny look that was scary at the same time caused one to throw up but Glenn did not look like she was afraid of him.
"I ask again, what do you want here, and why are you blocking my path?" The authority with which Glenn used to ask them that question, made them know that they had fallen on a stubborn woman who did not look threatened by their muscles or looks.
"Boss, I think this one is a good catch. She seems fearless and I like her," another one spoke out addressing the first man as boss, creating awareness in her head that he is their leader hence then being in a position to execute anything he says.
"Bring her here to me, I believe she is the right woman for me," he mumbled taking out a stick of cigarette from his pocket and putting it in his mouth while watching his boys fulfill his orders.
"Leave me alone, I am not your mate," Glenn fought with them but her strength was nothing compared to the four huge gangsters that were standing in front of her looking all fierce like wild bulldozers.
For a moment, she had thought that her dominant character could save her from them while her strong words could do so as well but unfortunately for her, she was all alone in that deserted part of the road. Her heart had commenced winning against her cheat like a little child that was faced with danger and there was no possible escape.
All her shouting was useless as there was no one around to save her not to even hear her. With the pride that she was having, she had told herself that she was never going to beg any man no matter how awful the situation was, and standing in front of them, Glenn was determined to stand her ground.
"You are not scared of me huh?" the man asked again with a long and nasty look that made Glenn's body ice as though she was inside a freezer. Her whole being was trembling just at the sight of his perverse words and actions but as usual, she was talking inside of her saying that she was not going to beg him.
"What can a beautiful and fresh-looking damsel like you be doing out here all by yourself without anyone to protect you, huh?" he asked with a sly smile on his lips but Glenn was not in the mood to hide and seek with them.
"What a nice car she has here, I think it is going to suit you so well boss," another talked and the other standing by him also added,
"So will she," and they all burst out laughing.
In her heart, she was hoping for someone to come to her rescue as the goons that were standing before her didn't look like there were joking but at the same time, she was aware that, showing any form of weakness to them, was only going to make things worst.
He approached her and with his little finger, he caressed her face right up to her strand where he wielded his finger inside her left war, causing her to jerk out of pain. Standing still and calculator she moves well like a soldier who is at the waterfront, Glenn seized the opportunity that had presented itself in front of her to bite off the leader's nose since he was standing directly in front of her.
She could not bear the idea that he was laying his filthy hands on her so she had to do something quickly before he contaminates her with his leprosy hands but her move had instead gotten the man into a deep rage that he joined the pain that he was feeling on his nose and gave her a hot slap which left her on the ground with blood flowing out of her mouth.
It had come so unexpectedly that she could swear not to have anticipated that. The harshness of the slap that man had given her, kind of upset her brain and left her speechless on the bottom with her face on it.
"Damn she bit my nose, you little tramp," the leader spoke out in pain as he held his nose which was giving out blood as well.
Her eyes were already getting blurred but she kept on drinking the bottle of wine that was standing on the table. Yvonne was probably the one left at the restaurant as everyone was making their way out of there. Her heart was swollen due to anger and as though she knew that things were going to turn out like that, she had prepared herself from the house partially as she said,
"Men could not be trusted won't still men like him." Even in her drunken state, she was still thinking that she was able to remember everything that she was saying but she was wrong. Wallowing in self-pity as she sat alone at her table, she gave attention to her phone ringing and the first thing which came up In her mind was that Gael was the person on the phone.
Without thinking, she searched for her purse and taking her phone out, she picked it up without glancing at the screen of her phone to check out who the caller was and as soon as the phone touched her ears, she lashed out in fury,
"How dare you keep me waiting you punk," her words made their way out of her mouth creating a tense atmosphere. Her breath could be listened to at the other end of the line and when she heard the callee speak, the drink which she had taken, disappeared from her eyes just in the space of some seconds. Yvonne was dumbfounded and lost at the same time, but when she brought down the phone and saw that the number was not registered in her cell phone, she placed it back on her ear and asked who it was and the voice let out,
"Stanley. It is Stanley your friend."
She felt more embarrassed than she was already and not knowing whether to apologize or blame herself for being carried away by Gael's's's behavior, she decided to go with the apology.
"I am sincerely sorry for sounding like a piece of trash some moments ago," her phrases were honest so Stanley told her not to worry her head about it but instead asked what the matter was as it seems like she was having a bad day but Yvonne told him not to worry about it.
"What is going on with you Yvonne, you know that I can do anything if that will help Fly feels better, right?" he muttered but knowing where the conversation was l, she was in no mood to push it further as it was only going to be nasty as she did not want Becky's trouble.
As far as she was concerned, Stanley could just avoid her or better still, lose her number due to the stress that his girlfriend could want to give her as a person. Her jealousy and insecurities were just so annoying right from their school days and to think that they had made the number of years that they had lasted together, she felt like Stanley needed a check-up.
He must be suffering from an internal effect just from having a psychopath for a girlfriend. They both kept on breathing over the phone while each one of them was thinking of something different. Yvonne was bent on keeping her encounter with him plain but was that what he wanted as well? Stanley already pictured himself with her and calculated the number of years that he had been searching for her without knowing where and how to possibly find her, he was not planning to let her go so easily.
Glenn was still struggling with the bandits that were holding her captive. She was acting all tough but as soon as she realized that the leader was starting to undress, her heartbeat increased making her fear that history might repeat itself. Her mother was a victim of r**e and she was seeing herself going through the same process that was not what she had planned for herself so she began crying out loud for help and this time, it was louder than the first time hoping that anyone was going to come to her rescue.
