His heart melted into millions of pieces the moment he heard her saying those words and he could not find the appropriate words to start explaining to her. She was an understanding person and has always supported him in both the right and wrongs he has been doing in his life but at that point, knowing that her good son has been creating a fairy tale image in an innocent girls mind whereas all that is because of the cash he is to receive as compensation for the job, she is going to detest me with a passion in her and that is something he is trying to avoid as much as possible.
His appointment with Tasha was already fixed and he was to meet her at the 'Ice Restaurant' and not get an idea where that place is, he had to leave early in order not to get lost. His thoughts were still concentrated on Yvonne and he found it so difficult to forget about her.
It was as though she had given him a love portion as no woman had ever made him do feel the way he was feeling and that was something that was very strange. Gael rose to do some basic things at home before going to have his bath to leave earlier, he also thought back to the fact that he had a match to watch in the evening with his friends and that was something thing he could not miss as he had to meet his friend Marco because he needed his assistance to get a good house and a suitable place for him to own a gym.
"Don't tell me that you are leaving?" his Mother's voice brought him back to consciousness and realizing that he had not finished his conversation with her, his had hurt more not knowing how he was going to escape from there.
"Mom, I promise to tell you everything when the time is right okay?" he promised her once more but his mom not feeling happy about the fact that he was hiding something from her, she just had to trust him as she could not force him to say what he did not want to say because he was no longer a kid.
"I love you mom, and you know that I can never do anything to hurt you," he murmured but his mom knowing how he operates, laughed out telling him to go do what he wanted to do inside.
Lisa had made spying on Gael a major job for her and since she had nothing to do with her life nor time, she monitored every of his movement as well as his phone calls. Giving Evan all the details that he needed to know about Yvonne, all he was waiting for was his feedback on the assignment that she had given to him.
Her plans had been put on track and while waiting for Evan's feedback she had another plan in mind that required a lot of work as she wanted it to hook him tightly.
Meeting Tasha that same evening, he had left the house in order not to arrive late at their appointment. His mood was a bittersweet one as he had left his mother hanging as always. Gael could not start to explain the different things that were happening in his life to his mom but one thing he was certain about was that his hustle was going to pay off.
Reaching the restaurant where they were to have an appointment, he looked around the place before walking into it. Yes, it was a very expensive place with lights all over with doors and windows made up of transparent glasses which could enable anyone outside to see the inside. In just a twinkle of an eye, he was able to see Tasha sitting inside with a mug of coffee before her.
The view from the outside was very enjoyable and everything that was going on inside could be seen from outside as well. Gathering himself while making up his mind to walk into the restaurant, he pushed the door with a full force coming from his right hand and when he had finally made his way into the place, his smile was broadened, just by seeing the interior.
He was wowed by what he had in front of him and without much hesitation, he walked to the table where Tasha was sitting. Catching sight of him as she lifted her head to call on a waiter, she felt happy to see the man who had made her friend share tears just because of the uncertainty as to whether he was disseminating the same feelings as she was sharing for him.
"Hi Tasha," he spoke out letting on a smile on his face and Tasha not wanting to take just that simple hello, rose to her feet, while asking him to come to hug her. Her happiness was overflowing because she had thought that her friend was a lost cause but her mind had picked Gael just from the first contact with him.
"You are welcome Gael, please do have a seat," she muttered with joy.
Gael took a seat while observing the joy that was on Tasha's face with so much curiosity. It was true that he did not know the real motive behind her contracting him as a fake boyfriend, but he was certain that it was a very important issue to her as she had paid so much already just to have the job done.
Getting his spirits together, he asked her what the meeting was all about but Tasha who was in the mood to celebrate whatever thing she had going on, told him to wait for a little bit longer as they had to celebrate. Gael felt funny that she was celebrating her friend's misfortune and the handwriting was written on the wall as his countenance sold out every thought that he was having inside his head.
Taking a look at him as she watched the waiter walking into the little piece where they were seated, she gave an order telling him to bring a bottle of the best wine that they were having in that restaurant.
"Okay, ma'am and do you need anything else?" he asked and her gaze had immediately turned towards Gael and looking at him he understood that she was glancing at him because she wanted him to order what he wanted but he was not looking like he wanted something so Tasha asked the waitperson to be the one she had already requested.
"From your expression, I can tell that you see me as a devil right?" she asked giving him a stare, and Gael being the quiet dude he has always been, sat mute and just kept on observing her without saying a word. Tasha let out a smile while she arranged herself on her seat with an imposing posture.
Licking her like and touching her fingers that were on the table, she breathed out as though her life depended on that single breath and glancing at the entrance to see whether the waiter was coming already or not, she said,
"I love my friend very very much and believe me, what you are thinking is not actually what is going on," she continued with a serious face, and Gael perceiving how serious she is pulled himself from the chair where he was seated as well and placed his hands on the table maintaining eye contact with her.
"I am aware that you love your friend so much and I know that she sees you like her number one role model but my question is, why her? why this and why the game? he asked but Tasha mumbled,
" Because my friend had never realized that it is to love anybody and when I mean anybody, I imply emotionally."
The shock on Gael's face was simply wow and giving her the impression that she did not know what she was saying bit was imposed me for someone as beautiful, intelligent, well endowed, and financially stable as Yvonne never had a love life before.
His lips stammered as he tried to figure out what words to use and the waiter had appeared with a bottle of wine and two glasses. He loosened the cork of the bottle and holding it like the professionals always do, poured out the wine into their glasses while being very careful not to spill out anything.
Done with what he was doing, he bowed down before them, and not getting any more orders from them, he left their table to his initial city post. The look in Gaels eyes meant a lot and said a lot too. but Tasha felt like there was a connection between Gael and Yvonne but not being able to explain the chemistry that they had or what he had done or given to her friend, she proceeded with her narration.
Taking her glass of wine, she looked into his eyes as she drank it up, and Gaels head still spinning after what he has just learned, he squeezed his eyes in better understanding to what he had seen and heard in her sleep while she was at his house the previous night.
Breathing in and out for a second, she told Gael to her audience as she was going to narrate her friend's story to him. It was a very bizarre situation but Tasha could not explain the reason as to why she was so free around Gael and why he had entrusted the life of her friend on his hands. Knowing and being sure of one thing, she could see that he is a good man just for the fact that, he took care of her, and though not discerning who she was, he still went out of his way to make sure that she was very comfortable.
*** Some years back, Yvonne was just like me as she grew up. She loved happy endings and always felt happy when two people who are in love unite to form one though she was not the kind of lady to do jungle with guys. Her life was not all that rosy as she had her pound of flesh, she still managed to go through life without any hard feelings or extra complaints as she had understood that it was like that sometimes
