Distant

264 Words
As Aurora grew older, she excelled in her studies and secured a high position job in a distant city. Eliza and Dominic were proud of her accomplishments but saddened by the distance that grew between them. One day, Eliza fell ill with a severe fever. Dominic, now older and frail, struggled to care for her alone. He reached out to Aurora, hoping she would come home to help, but she refused, citing her busy schedule and disinterest in returning to Ravenswood. Dominic was heartbroken by Aurora's indifference, but he remained by Eliza's side, determined to care for her as best as he could. As Eliza's condition worsened, Dominic knew that their time together was running out. He sat by her bedside, holding her hand and reminiscing about their life together. "I love you, Eliza," Dominic whispered, tears streaming down his cheeks. "You are the light of my life, and I will never forget the joy you brought me." Eliza smiled weakly, her eyes filled with love. "I love you too, Dominic. Thank you for always being there for me." With her last breath, Eliza passed away, leaving Dominic alone and heartbroken. Aurora, upon hearing of her mother's passing, returned to Ravenswood. She was filled with regret for not being there for her parents when they needed her the most. Seeing Dominic's grief, Aurora realized the error of her ways. She apologized to her father, expressing her regret for not being there for him and Eliza. Dominic, though still hurt by Aurora's past actions, forgave her, knowing that Eliza would have wanted them to reconcile.
