Chapter 3

796 Words
We all reached my place by seven in the evening.  "Where is your mom? It's been a long time we haven't met her," Amber said smiling. "She expired eight years back," I replied, holding back my tears. "I---I--am sorry," Amber spontaneously apologized. I wiped off my tears and replied, "It's okay" There was an absolute silence for a few minutes. Everyone was looking at me sadly. I thought to break this silence. "Guys will someone have water, coffee, tea or something?" I asked. "No babes, we are okay," Amanda said passing on a warm smile to me. "Guys, let's go to Ladakh," I said and everyone looked at each other. "Why do you want to go to Ladakh, Sophie? For that Ryan, who didn't try to contact you in these ten years?" Amber asked. "Yes Sophie, you need to move on in your life," Amanda added. "Guys, I promise I'll move on if he has moved on in his life. But I just want to meet him once," I pleaded. "But we are not even sure, that he would still be in Ladakh," Amber said. "What's the harm in going there and checking out once?" Xavier asked. "Ya, even if we don't find him there we'll stay at Walton's hotel and spend a few days in Ladakh together," Terence said. "Walton's hotel? Is Walton in Ladakh and are you in touch with him?" I asked. Terence replied, "Walton has become a billionaire and has a chain of hotels all around the world. He resides in New York and is presently in India for a business deal. I'm in touch with him for a couple of years" "Okay, so we are going to Ladakh tomorrow, yeah!" Xavier exclaimed excitedly. "Cool your jets Xavier. We cannot go tomorrow itself," Amanda said. "Exactly brother, we need to go back to our respective countries, get visas and packing done," Abram said. "It takes seven to eight weeks for a visa to be issued," Amber added. "Guys how about meeting directly in India, on 26th June?" I suggested. "Ya that's a pretty good idea, we'll meet at Walton's hotel, Hotel 'WA Royal' which is in Leh," Terence said. "Ya fine, we'll catch private cabs from Leh to Ladakh," I told. Everyone agreed with the plan.  "Damn, I am tired," Xavier said yawning and stretching his arms. "So am I," Amanda said resting her head on Xavier's shoulder. "Guys would you like to take some rest over here?" I asked. "No babes, thank you, we shall leave now. It's getting quite late," Amber said smiling.  "Oh man, it's eight," Terence said looking at the clock. "We'll leave now," Abram said smiling. We then exchanged our numbers and had a group hug. They left and I sat on the couch smiling like a fool recollecting all the memories and moments, I spent with Ryan. Our silly fights, his stupid jokes which he used to crack to make me smile when I was sad. I am so happy, I'll meet him again after ten years. God has given me the opportunity to clear out the misunderstandings between us. Because of a miscommunication, a misunderstanding, our friendship and our relationship got destroyed. After freshening up and having dinner, I went to bed. I had a dream that Ryan led me to the backyard of his house, seeking help. He was injured badly, and his forehead was bleeding. I went to the bathroom and splashed water on my face. Such a weird dream it was.  I closed my eyes and made a silent prayer, "Oh Jesus, please protect him!" I went to sleep again. "Sophie, Sophie," I heard Ryan calling my name. I sat on the bed pulling the blanket closer to my face and looked at the clock. It was three at night. "Sophie, you better stop thinking about Ryan now. You're going crazy. You used to see him in dreams and now you can hear his voice too." I mentally scolded myself and went to sleep again. ****************************************************************************** I was waiting for 26th June, impatiently, I was impatient to meet  Ryan. Those three months, I used to think only about Ryan. I was happy and excited to meet him again. But at the same time, I was getting some negative vibes. I was getting the same dreams of Ryan leading me to the backyard of his house and seeking help. I found it weird so I thought to share this with Amber.  I called her up and narrated her about the dreams which I was having. To which she replied that it is just a dream and I shouldn't worry about it. Talking to her didn't help me out as I continued to feel restless. I just wanted to see Ryan, safe and sound.
