Elijah POV

"please don't apologize, an apology won't get me my scholarship back, thanks to your mistake, I missed my dream interview, i hope you won't make more mistakes in the future, sir"

I smiled as i remembered her angry face when she said she missed the interview, she looks so cute when she is annoyed, but she is easily the most savage person i know

a knock on my door jolted me out of my reverie "sir, can I com..."

"yes you can come in Landon" i replied him rolling my eyes, like he doesn't barge In here sometimes

"sir" he continued "the Avia institute of Gemology accepted your request to give Miss Violet Kai a full scholarship to study there, you were right when you said they will need our help soon"

I smiled and shrugged "instincts"

"but sir" he continued "why did you do that for this young lady, i mean who is she to you

I answered him with a wary look, why did he look so suspicious "she was the one who saved my grandma, and she missed her interview because of that"

"ohhh" he squealed "i heard so much from her from your grandma, she Is such a bad ass and i wish i could meet her"

I smiled again "yeah she is the bravest girl i know"

Landon frowned "you know, have you met her before"

i rolled my eyes "curiosity kills the cat Landon, go do your job"

he sighed and gave me a mock salute before leaving

I tried to work, but went back to my thoughts, she is still the same as i remembered, long Dark curly hair, beautiful caramel and smooth skin, amazing brown eyes, and the prettiest smile

but these weren't even the reason i like her, i liked her because of her, fierceness, kind heart, selflessness, and smartness

she is just so awesome

yeah, i like her, in fact maybe even more, only that we met years ago and she probably doesn't even remember me

she was the only person to understand me and accept me for who i was then, and now she saved my grandma at the expense of her interview,

the least i could do was give her the scholarship back, but knowing her stubborn head she might not want to accept it

I chuckled at that, she's always been an arrogant girl

my phone ringtone jerked me out of my thoughts, it was an unknown number calling,

feeling wary, I wanted to cut it but my curiosity got the better of me and i picked it only to regret instantly

"sonnnn, its been so long, how have you been" the loud voice of my father sounded in my ears and I groaned instantly my day just got worse,

"Fine Dale" even i cringed at how dry my voice sounded

"hmm, you know you can call me dad right", he sounded sad and I scoffed at the effort he is trying to make

"what do you want, I'm busy" i said trying to make the conversation end quick

he didn't say anything for a while and i was about to hang up when he spoke

"we haven't seen or spoken in months, yet when i call you tell me you are busy, anyways your mother and i are in town and we want to have dinner with you tonight"

i frowned at that "like I said I'm busy, sorry but i won't have tim......"

"no excuses" he suddenly cut me off "we would have dinner at our new restaurant in Savannah street, i heard they serve Indian dishes your favorite, so see you tonight by 7pm, bye"

before i could reply he cut the call, i wanted to tell him that i didn't like Indian dishes but African dishes instead

but how would he know, heck he doesn't even know my birthday

I took deep breathes, trying to calm my anger as I thought of what to do

if I ignored him , he will start disturbing grandma and blame her for my coldness towards him and my mom and she will start feeling bad

but if I went, i will bear two hours of boredom and annoying questions but i guess I could deal with that for grandma sake

i sighed in frustration as i mentally prepared myself for tonight

Violet POV

tonight, my parents seemed so nice to me, they even said I could eat whatever I want for this week and ignore my diet, that sounded odd coming from people who always insisted a girl must look fragile but fresh and smooth skinned

because of this mentality of theirs, i always had to follow this strict diet which is mostly filled with vegetables and some weird looking smoothie that tasted yuck

what they don't know is that behind their backs bella and i always fill ourselves with the sweetest junks, typical?

anyways today my parents came home beaming and happy, they sat us down and told us the news

"so, i got lucky today and i was able to bag a contract which would pay me millions of dollars", my dad Gary Kai literally squealed with excitement

"can you imagine such a big name coming to partner with me, it will be great for our business"

they obviously expected excited screams and jumps from us, but we gave the opposite reaction, it is either they didn't notice, or they just don't care

"Vee and Bella dear, we are going to dinner this evening with them to talk about business, and you girls are coming with us, they were so excited to meet you when I talked about you guys to them" my mother Amanda said excitedly looking at us with awe which was strange

i watched them with warily, why would their business partner want Bella and I to have dinner with them

it all seemed strange but i knew better than to ask questions

Bella and i went upstairs to dress up, I was seated on the bed looking at her while she ravaged my closet picking my clothes, since I was clueless on what to wear

"do not pick any uncomfortable clothes okay", she gave me a look and i grimaced "you know what i mean, Sissy" she laughed at that and i smiled, Bella always had the best laughs

she had stunning red hair, pale skin and gray eyes with a cute button nose, and even at the age of ten she already had her boy fans to which I always had to shoo away

you might have guessed, yes we aren't related, we were both adopted by Dale and Amanda Kai, cause both our real parents are dead,

she is the only real family i have and I will always be her protective sister

but for now I have a two hour boring dinner to attend

I love the sisterly bond between Violet and Bella, even though they are eight years apart

seems like Elijah and Violet are going to meet again, stay tuned to watch the drama unfold between them, cause Violet is still angry with him
