Chapter 2—Regretful Day (2)

1994 Words
Christopher stared at me for a while. The colors in his irises darkened the more he took my whole figure and burned it in the back of his mind. I could see my own reflections in his green eyes, shifting awkwardly on where I stood. No words were being spoken, under his gaze I felt confused and unsettled. I have no idea of what what could it be that made him suddenly act this way, but I was uncomfortable how the tension between us seemed to be suffocating despite the huge space around us. “I...uh.” I tried to speak, my voice getting caught on my throat as I did. Christopher didn’t react, once again his eyes scanned me as if he was looking at a product to be sold. “I think there’s no problem between us right?” I bit my lower lip, hopefully asking for peace—because frankly I have no idea what was going on. “Right.” He said sharply, although his eyes softened once it met my brown eyes, from the tone of his voice I felt uncertain. “Yeah... I’m sorry for jumping you last night.” I awkwardly laughed, scratching the the back of my neck and avoiding his stare. Why is he staring too much? Christopher’s eyes were something I couldn’t handle. I wouldn’t even deny the fact that he made me feel something, especially when all I remember was that kiss everytime I looked at him. I glanced at his lips, it was moving. Partly separating as he spoke, yet I couldn’t hear anything else. The more I’ll stay here, I’m afraid I might jump him again. “Are you even listening?” I heard his asked, disbelief and annoyance as he looked at me. “Well, uhm...” I swallowed the lump in my throat, forcing myself to look away from his mouth. I am definitely going crazy. “I asked for you number.” He said sharply. I held my phone in my hands tightly, staring at him with shock in my face. What was he talking about? He asked for my number as if it was his god—given rights. He was a cassanova, I bet he had been since his high school days. With that handsome face at the top of his head, and a good body, a lips that makes anyone even me daydream about it, its no doubt he was confidently used of getting what he wanted with that attitude and personality. Now, I know why he was staring at me as if I am a product to be sold. I couldn’t believe this guy—no I couldn’t believe that in my self—induced memory of the amazing first kiss I had intoxicatedly experienced with the hottest player of the university, I had forgotten he was no good. My ever so shiny and dreamy gaze that I wasn’t so aware of suddenly turned dull, and for the first time in this morning I was thankful that my plans on losing my virginity did not happened—especially with him. I didn’t want to see my name under the list of the girls he had collected. “My number?” I asked, almost sounding petrified. My eyes shakily looking at him, contemplating if he was being serious. He gave me a smug look, shrugging his broad shoulders as if it was the only answer I needed. I couldn’t help but scowl, looking at him perilously with my brow knitted together. And since he was way taller than I was, I had to tilt my head just to get a clear look of his face. “Uh, about that. I don’t give my numbers to someone I just met.” I sternly said, rolling my eyes before completely ignoring him. I looked over the road, searching the car I badly needed this time. “But you kisses them?” He asked amusedly, a light chuckle rumbled in his chest and I didn’t even have to turn my eyes to his direction to know that he had that goddamn smirk on his face. “I was drunk.” I mumbled, already pissed of him and myself. His laughter carried on, stepping in, in front of to get my attention but I continued to avert my attention somewhere. My eyes left no interest to see him, but his persistence was the opposite. His feet followed my movements, everytime I stepped aside, he would too. Right in front of me was an annoying shirtless man, with that playful smirk and beautiful green eyes, trying to get me to match his gaze. “This was so unlike of you from last night.” He commented slyly, mocking a tone of sadness with that face. “I feel hurt.” He held up his hands over his chest, grasping it as if he was about to have a heart attack. Ugh! Why did it have to be him last night? The morning started to became filled with regrets from last nights. If there was something I hated the most next to an empty wallet and zero balance on my poor bank account, its a series of consequences from a decision I hastily made without further inspection and considerations. This was why I said I had no profits in dealing with Christopher Sterling. But tough luck! I just had to end up in this position because of my stupidity from last night. “Look, I apologize already—“ I snapped, but I made sure I didn’t sound pissed. I wouldn’t want to end up dead because his fangirls heard I disrespected their god or something, or worse they found out I threw myself to him. “Apology denied!” He interrupted, grinning like a stupid kid. His perfect set of teeth showing, as well as his dimples from both sides as his lips curved beautifully. His green eyes were shinning, and even if the sun was hidden behind his towering height, and casted a shadow over my figure, I saw a flashed of crystal light that somehow captivated me. “Huh?!” I exclaimed, taken a back. My voice was cracked with the breathe that stopped in my chest. What the f**k did he just say? “I said I won’t be accepting your apology.” He smugly said, stepping in closer and in that moment I knew my life was certainly taking another turn because of last night and him. “Then...” I slowly anticipated what he had to say. “Are you file a lawsuit against me?” I uncertainly asked, biting my lower lip nervously. Christopher did not say anything for a while, instead he stared at me once again. And if I had the audacity right now to actually call him out about all this “starings”, I would have already. But I knew I was in no place to do so, what would come out of his mouth next would draw a possible future for me. “Carter, you’re funny.” He simply said, slowly reaching out to hold my face up. My chin felt the tight grip between his thumb and index finger, squishing my cheeks as he forced me to meet him eye to eye. I could have pushed him off, actually I should have—however how could I do that? Even at the idea that this man was nothing but all the rumours that was slowly proving itself right in front of me, I was captivated by his eyes. The way he looked at me, soft yet entertained. It was filled with curiosity, filled with the clarity of the endless ideas of what he could do to me. Perhaps he had already decided I would become one of his toys. Perhaps, this was his revenge against me who dared to touch his dignified and expensive body—someone like me who was practically out of his league. Perhaps, this was the beginning of how the player would play me. “You know what’s more funny?” He whispered, his low voice made my toes curl. My hand shook, gripping my phone against my chest. The only thing that allowed a space between us. “What?” I uncertainly asked, my voice merely heard because of how hard his squished my cheeks with his large hands. “The fact that you thought you could just leave after taking something away from me.” He answered dangerously, and although his voice low and rough, his face was different. He really was finding this entertaining, whatever he had just seen from the both of us. “I shdid nhot shteal anyfthing.” I helplessly respond in my muffled voice. I could barely make out the words I was saying, which made him smile cheekily. While I was almost pleading—because God forbid, I might be poor and a broke ass b***h but I had never stolen anything. “Oh you did, Carter.” He laughed. “You did.” “I shdidn’th.” I muttered, biting my lower lip as I tried to get my emotions check. I might end up crying—that was not an exaggeration. He looked down for a moment. I watched his eyes fixed his gaze on my lips, my heart went crazy as soon as I realized what he was about to do. He was looking in haze, the desire in his was clear, slowly he leaned in with that smile on his face. And no matter how much I tried to squeal and squirm in his hold. The arms he had locked me in, tightening around my waist and pulling me closer, I was left with no rescue. “shey, wshait, shol—“ I panicked, my voice getting higher when I realized some passerbys was glancing at us, and I could tell from everyone’s look they recognized him. A low chuckled was then heard, and before I knew I felt his soft lips above mine. I freezed, and my mind went blank. The tight grip he had around my chin slowly lessened, his hands then grabbed my neck gently pushing my head closer to him. His mouth claimed mine, sensually moving as I stood there stunned. My eyes were opened, widened and shock and all I could remember was the hazy look in his green eyes before fluttering closed. His lips was soft, just like what I remembered from last night. I felt my inside melt, my toes were curling from the way his tongue tried to part my lips open. My chest was pumping, and perhaps he could hear my heartbeat. His arms around my waist tightened, grasping my sides with his hands, feeling every flesh and skin it could touch against my clothes. As soon as I felt myself losing my mind, my eyes almost closing in the hazy fog that I could feel swirling around my head. I opened my mouth and started to kiss him back—but that was when he stopped. I opened my eyes slowly, disappoinment lies within me when I felt him let go, my waist felt empty, my neck felt light, and lips felt nothing. I knew I f****d up. I knew I did, because when I caught him smirking at me as if he liked how I reacted with that amazing kiss he had just given me. I knew he had set another girl to claim and collect. “See you later.” He whispered, his smirk turning into a smile before pecking my lips with haste. He ran inside without even turning around, leaving me outside with my finger on my lips trying to trace whatever he had left in there. Stunned and confused, my mind and heart races in to a frenzy emotion I couldn’t describe. But I knew it was bad. What in the actual f**k just happened?
