Vengance
Hayden After I put her in bed and healed her wound as much as I could I left Casper to watch over her. I need to do a perimeter sweep. Reinforcing the barricades around the house and on the beach took longer than I had hoped. I make my way back to the house. Casper is pacing back and forth on the porch. “What’s with you?” I ask as I approach. He looks up at me with fear in his eyes “She’s gone. Morfran took her. I was too late to get to her” “What??” I roar at him, he slithers back slightly. “I am sorry Hayden. I was not there in time. I accept your punishment for me. I have failed my end of our bargain” He hangs his head low. I walk past him ignoring his pathetic state. “You will stay here and wait for me to return with your Master” I tell him. He bows and sits by the door.
