I'm A Doctor

"Herlie!" "Jazen!" The teenagers are shouting those names in the middle of the night in a lot of tall grass to be specific, because Herlie ran away with Jazen towards there instead of running to an open ground. "Let's split up!" Jisu told them and they agreed, they split up in two since it wasn't really advisable to go alone, especially if there's a monster around them just hiding at the tall grasses and also it's already dark. Herlie has been transforming into a monster three days straight now but tonight, they forgot to tie her because they were all occupied after what happened to Han's sister. Added the tension between Jazen and Lexi which caused them to totally forgot about Herlie. "Lex, wait up!" Trevor shouted when Lexi squeezed herself into an open space or more like a trace of a possible direction of where she could find Herlie and Jazen. Some grass lay down, as if someone just walked in it and gave them a clear path to see what's ahead of them using only a small flashlight that the boys found inside that suspicious house. Lexi didn't hear Trevor and she continued to ran towards the middle of the field, but she stopped when the tracks ended on her spot and there was no other clue as to where she would go next. She doesn't have time to think so she just spreads the tall grass to go through it even if she couldn't see clearly since the flashlight was with Trevor, the only light she's using is the moonlight above them. "Lexi!" Trevor shouted again and he followed the trace of the grass. He didn't mind if he's tripping over and over because his concern was to get Lexi and make sure she's safe. Unfortunately, when he tripped again, he accidentally dropped the flashlight. It went through the grass before it turned off. "Goddamn it!" He groaned in frustration. He tried to look for it while looking around and kept yelling Lexi's name but at the end, he gave up looking for it and he continued running again. "Lexi!" He shouted again from the top of his lungs since he couldn't see her at all. He pushed everything, blocking his sight and earning a lot of cuts on his arms but he couldn't care less. "Lexi, please! Where are you?!" He kept walking and walking until he finally reached Lexi's spot in the middle of the field, she's on her knees, her hands on her face while her shoulders shaking violently as she cried her heart's out. "Lex.." "I shouldn't have left her inside." Lexo sobbed. "Lex, she'll be fine." "How?! That monster took her! How could you be so sure that she'll be fine?!" Lexi asked raggedly. "That monster is Herlie. She won't hurt Jazen." Trevor said, he's trying to keep his composure even if he knows deep inside him that there will be no assurance that Herlie will not hurt Jazen. "She already did." Lexi said as she stood up, then she pointed at the blood on the grass, it may not be clear but they both know that it is indeed, a human blood. But the thing that confused Lexi is, the tracks stopped there and no more trace of the monster going in any way, unless she jumped high. Lexi's eyes slowly widened when she realized that it would be possible since every monster could jump so high. "Let's go." Lexi said and she continued walking through the grass. Even if he's confused at the sudden change of mood, Trevor still followed her best friend. As they are getting close to the tracks where Herlie landed after jumping high, the monster could feel the danger so she continued running away but finally let go Jazen. "Wait." Jisu grabbed Chantelle when she heard the grass rustling ahead of them. She pulled the girl to the side and slowly peeked through the grass. Her eyes widened when she saw a figure, she wasn't really sure who it was but she's hoping that it is Herlie. "Wait here." She said and she carefully walked towards the person and her eyes widened when she saw Jazen, her body and face covered with blood. "I found Jazen!" She shouted, those who were close to their area heard her and they all followed where the voice came from. Lexi picked up her pace when she heard Jisu, she was covered with cuts all over her arms, legs and face, but she didn't give a f**k, she just want to see her girlfriend and hoping she's safe. But her heart leaped to her throat when she arrived at the spot where Jazen was lying on the dirty ground covered with blood. She froze and felt like someone punched her gut and she couldn't breathe. "Lexi move! Let's bring her to the van!" Trevor yelled to pull his best friend from her dazed upon seeing the horrible situation of her girlfriend. Then they both approached Jazen. "She's still alive, but she has a weak pulse." Chantelle said after she checked Jazen's pulse. "Wait, don't touch her!" She yelled when they were about to lift her up. "Why?!" "My mom is a doctor and she taught me how to give a first aid to this kind of situation." Chantelle said as she kneeled down and started to do pumping on Jazen's chest to resurrect her since she's on the verge of dying. While Chantelle tried to revive Jazen, Lexi didn't know what she would do, her tears streaming down nonstop while holding Jazen's hand and keep kissing on her knuckles. "Babe, I'm sorry.. I'm really really sorry. I shouldn't have said those words to you. Babe, please, wake up." Lexi sobbed hysterically. "Lex, she'll be fine. Please calm down." Trevor said while rubbing Lexi's back to console her. "Here! I thought you might need this." Siena put down the box of first aid kit next to Chantelle, though she can't do anything with those things at the moment because she's more focus on how to survive Jazen since she's started slipping out and her pulse getting weaker and weaker because she lost a lot of blood from the wound on her shoulder. It looks like a bite and some flesh removed from her body along with the skin and they could see the bone. "Put something on her shoulder and pressed it to stop the bleeding!" Chantelle was already covered with sweat but she wouldn't stop from pumping Jazen's chest. "Come on, Jazen! Don't give up, please!" "B-Babe, please." Lexi is getting weaker as the second passes by and Jazen is still not making any progress. "I'm getting tired, who else knows how to do it?" "Let me." Blake volunteered and he replaced Chantelle's spot and started pumping Jazen's chest in the right way. He used to work in the military and one of their training is how to save their comrades with some circumstances. 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, still no response from Jazen. Some of them already gave up and they feel sorry for Lexi, but Blake, Chantelle, especially Lexi are still hoping that she will survive. Until after 15 minutes of pumping, Jazen's middle finger moved. "She moved!" Denver exclaimed when he saw it. "Great, now let's bring her back to the van!" Chantelle said and they all moved so fast, Blake pulled Jazen's arms and carried her on his back and ran as fast as he could towards the van while the others were clearing the path for him. When they were so close to the camper, they saw a car next to it and a flashlight moving around, as if whoever was holding it was looking for something or someone. They all stopped and watched a couple got out of the camper while having a conversation. "We have to put down Jazen to treat her wound." Chantelle whispered to Lexi while she focused on Jazen's wound to stop the nonstop bleeding. "Denver, Siena, go lure them." Iris said and she grabbed Lexi's hand. "Follow me." She dragged Lexi to the side so they could go around the van without getting noticed. They crawled behind and waited for Siena and Denver to make their move. "Who are you?!" Denver asked, stepping out from the dark. The couple got startled and they pointed the flashlight to Denver. "Hey!" He hissed while covering his face. "Oh I'm sorry." The woman exclaimed and immediately put away the flashlight from Denver. "We were passing by and saw this camper van, so we thought you guys needed help?" "If you need gas, we have a gallon here." The guy offered as he walked back to his car to get the gas, that's when Iris and Lexi made their attack. Iris used Blake's dagger and pointed it to the guy's neck while hugging him from behind. "Don't move or you're dead." She whispered. The guy froze and he quickly put his arm on his side to surrender when he felt the sharp end of the dagger on his skin. "What do you want?" He asked calmly. "We don't want anything, we just want to leave this place." Iris said then she curt a nod to Lexi. The latter opened the trunk to get the gallon of gasoline as well as the tunnel they could use to fill the tank of their car. "Move." Iris ordered the guy and they both walked back to where he left his wife. "Guys, come out now!" Denver shouted after he stole the flashlight from the woman, who was being held by Siena. The other ones who's hiding in the dark all stepped out and Blake immediately put Jazen inside the camper without even looking at the stranger couple. The woman saw Jazen when Blake walked past her. "What happened to your friend?" She asked, not even minding if a bunch of teenagers captivated them. "Would you believe us if we say she was bitten by a monster?" Siena chuckled. "She what?!" The woman gasped. "Wait, I know you." The guy pointed at Lexi, then he turned to Denver and to the girl behind his wife. "You guys are wanted!" "Wow. I still can't believe it. People could recognize me now. I'm so famous." Denver said, which made Siena laugh. "Shut up!" Iris hissed. "Lexi, are you done?" "Almost." Lexi replied and made sure not to spill even a drop of gas since they will need it much more than food as of this moment. "Your friend." The woman started, she's looking at the door of the camper van. "She's already dying." "She's not, we managed to revive her." Denver said. "I'm a doctor." The woman said and she looked at her husband, who's shaking his head, as if he could read what's running inside his wife's head. "They need my help." "But—." "And one of them is your daughter." _________
