Sabrina had been about to take a bite of her chicken wing she had just put in barbeque sauce but the growing sickening feeling in her stomach from Bri’s words as well as the memories of the day made her stop “These clearly aren't the zombies we have all imagined, and seen in both movies and games “ she said “ They are smarter somehow yet dumb” she reasoned “I don’t think Dante was himself those words he said weren't his own” She pointed out “ But we don’t know we haven't experienced any other zombies that weren't the ones from the school” she said “ We can't jump to conclusions that would be dumb the same as us not making a solid plan to actually get out of the city and to the lake house “ she said forgetting that Kyle didn’t know anything about that plan.
Kyle pipped in then “What lake house?” he asked a bit confused
Sabrina smiled “Bri’s family has a lake house a few hours' drive from here” she said “ I'm assuming we would start to work our way that way after stopping at both Bri’s and Jason’s homes to see if their parents are alive since no one is even picking up cell phones right now” she said watching the look of surprise cover Kyle’s Hansome face.
"Do you guys have a lake house where we all could have been partying at and you didn't invite us?" he asked with a hint of disappointment in his voice.
Sabrina laughed, "Different social groups, remember?" she asked him before yawning, feeling the exhaustion from the day catching up with her. "Wait, how should we sleep? I don't think we should sleep in different rooms," she said softly, her voice laced with concern.
Kyle was all too quick to agree, "I agree. I mean, strength in numbers, right?" he asked, trying to lighten the mood.
Jason held an almost asleep Bri, "Yeah, but what room in your house has enough space for us all to sleep comfortably but also able to block off the door?" he asked, his voice a little muffled from Bri's sleepy head on his chest.
Kyle smiled, "The master bedroom. We can bring in some of the other beds into the room and block the door with some furniture. Plus, it's on the second floor, so we won't have to worry about things getting into the room via the window," he mused, feeling proud of his plan.
Jason nodded, "Sounds like a plan," he said, grateful for Kyle's quick thinking.
Sabrina had nodded off for a moment and woken up at the tail end of their conversation. "Huh?" she asked sleepily, feeling a little lost.
Jason laughed, "We're all sleeping in the master bedroom, Sabrina. No need to worry, just get yourself up there. Kyle and I can handle the rest," he mused, feeling confident in their ability to make it work. He picked up Bri in his arms bridal style before fading from view, feeling the weight of the day catch up with him.
