“I... I just,” Matt started. “Are you sure we're both going to make it out of here, Sabrina?” he asked, seeking reassurance. Sabrina rolled her eyes. “Yes, Matt, we are both making it out of here. I will die before I let anything bad happen to you. Besides, I'm sure Jason and Bri are waiting for us in English. We need to make it to that floor first,” she said. “I’ll see if I can get a hold of one of them once we are in the next classroom.” She said to him. Her focus is drawn from her friend right back to Mr. Monty as he spoke.
“Students, we are going to head towards the classroom right before the stairs,” he said. “The other classes on this floor will be meeting us there. From there, us teachers will figure out our next plan. Please stay as quiet as possible and ensure you have all your things with you, for we will not return to this room. I know a lot of you are worried about your friends and family, but not to worry, you will have plenty of time to try and get a hold of them once we make it safely to the science lab.” he said
Murmurs of agreement and understanding filled the room before the students collectively tensed, ready for anything, as Mr. Monty unblocked the door to the classroom and opened it. Sabrina stared out into the empty hallway. It looked just as it had prior to the announcement. “What the hell?” she breathed. She wasn’t sure what she had been expecting, but this wasn’t it. It seemed the others had the same idea as they all walked to the science lab at the end of the hall. Everything seemed quiet, almost too quiet. Sabrina made her way into the science lab, her eyes scanning all the other students and teachers, as well as aids that were all crammed into a room that could seat thirty. However, there were forty students alone in that room and four teachers with only two aids who looked like they were just as nervous as the students were.
Sabrina smiled when she saw her other two friends, Jason and Bri, sitting in the back near the supply closet. She waved at them and grabbed Matt’s hand, pulling him along with her. She ignored the other students' complaints as they pushed their way to the back of the room. “Glad to see you both are alright,” Sabrina said, letting go of Matt’s hand. “What's the news here?” she asked.
Jason shuttered. “Well, I was on the second floor when this happened. It looked so real from the windows, and then the whole Dante on the intercom had me spooked. I came here as quickly as possible and have been stuck in this room ever since. Teachers aren't letting anyone leave. The other two classes just joined us about fifteen minutes before you all showed up.” Jason said giving his friends the rundown of his version of events Bri nodded agreeing with his words “I was well in here, Jason practically broke down the door to get in.” she said looking up at the pale athletic boy with green eyes that had her heart.
