Chapter 5

Sabrina smiled a bit “Well I'm glad you had a hero to come save you” she said to Bri a Pettie burnet with golden brown eyes to match. “Okay, so do you think this is just a joke or real?” she asked Jason, and Bri exchanged a look. “I honestly think it is real, Sabrina. It looked too real to be fake, and the intercom,” he said. Sabrina rolled her eyes. “Zombies don’t talk, Jason,” she said. “Hey, Matt?” she asked. Matt looked up at her from his seat on the ground. “Yeah?” he asked. Sabrina flashed him a smile. “Care to keep a hold of my lunch in your bag? I'm going to raid the supply closet while the teachers are busy. After all, if this is real, we are going to need to arm ourselves. “She said mischievously. Matt sighed and fished Sabrina’s lunch from her bag before putting it in his own. “What are you going to grab anyway?” he asked. Sabrina held up a finger to her lips, telling him to be quiet as she snuck inside the supply closet. Rows and shelves of different chemicals and equipment met her. She knew if the teachers found out that she raided the science room supply closet, she was going to get in serious trouble, but she would rather be prepared than trapped in a corner defenseless. Plus, she had promised Matt, she would protect him, and it would be hard to have a crush on a dead guy. She knew Jason and Bri would take care of each other, and they would make it out okay, but Matt? No, he was too kind-hearted. He wouldn’t survive if this were real. She was praying this wasn’t real. Sabrina shook her head, trying to clear it of the negative thoughts as she took inventory of everything around her. She skimmed the shelves, looking for the dissecting kits, from which she stole a few small knives. Then, she moved on to the chemicals. She wasn't actually looking for chemicals. She was looking for the teacher's stash of drinks and snacks that they all knew were hidden in the supply room somewhere. She rummaged around, moving some bottles around till she found a box full of drinks and random snacks. She quickly stashed all she could into her backpack. Sabrina exited the supply closet, seeing most of the room had cleared out quite literally. “What did I miss?” she asked her group of friends. Jason was the first to answer, “Well, they split us all up into groups of ten. The other three groups left for the second floor. They are staying in random classrooms. We get the teacher's lounge, “He said, sounding a bit too excited about that prospect. Sabrina sighed. “The teacher's lounge? Why not just go for the first floor? We will be free to get out of here and actually leave,” she said, though Jason didn’t have a chance to respond to Sabrina because Ms. Hoggan was standing right behind her and started to speak. “Because those who went first noticed some things on the way to their classroom, it's not safe yet, and we will be making a new plan once we are on the next floor. Now, if you are all done gossiping, the rest of us would like to leave as quickly as possible and get to the teacher's lounge. Mr. Monty is waiting for you ten there,” she said
