Dating?

“I heard you brought a man to the office after you left” “Urgh, Roberta told you? That sly little…..” “You’re finally getting back to dating?” “That’s a delusional thought and you know that. Dating is impossible for someone like me” “Louis, have you ever looked in the mirror before? You’re gorgeous!” “Thank you, darling, I appreciate it” “Louis…!” Keith screamed in frustration. She laughed, peeling another apple for him. He hated the skins and only ate them if Louis peeled them. He was spoiled, that she knew but she preferred nursing him than mourning him.  “It’s that detective, isn’t it?” “Who told you about him?” “Hansel” “Is everyone just blabbing to you?” “Hehehe” “Cheeky brat” she pulled his cheek. It was red when she released it. He pouted as he rubbed on it.  “We’re working on the case. For some reason, ‘S’ is involved” “Seriously?! How?” “I don’t know but this is the perfect chance to bring us down. They’ve always hated how ‘clean’ we were” “Those bastards…..” “Better to watch your mouth. We don’t know who is watching or listening. I don’t want you or Matt or Alifie in danger” “Alfie’s going to be mad if she hears about this” “So we don’t tell her. The last thing I want is her overreacting” Louis’s phone vibrated in her phone.  [They approved it. Should I call Solomon] It was a text from Roberta.  “Keith, I’ve got to go now. Riana is coming over later, right?” Riana was Keith’s girlfriend. They had been together for so long, she was practically family. Keith nodded.  “Alright. See you later darling” she kissed his forehead and left the room. She dialed Roberta as she walked out.  “Hello hello, boss~~” “Where’s the meeting place?” “They want you to come to their Headquarters” “Seriously? They’re definitely on guard” “Hmm? Is something the matter?” “Nope. Call Solomon and Hansel. We’re going together” “Okay~~” Roberta said, hanging up. Louis was already beside her car. She opened the door and got in. Since the windows were tinted, she was able to look towards a corner in the parking lot. Just as she suspected, someone was watching her. It was rude and ridiculous.  Trying to scare an executive in the underworld was fruitless.  She stayed in her car and waited for Solomon and Hansel. Roberta was efficient as they arrived not long after. They knocked on her windows and got in.  “There are people watching you” Solomon said the moment she walked in.  “So, they’ve increased. Let’s go” she commented simply.  “No. Not until you tell us what you’re up to” he two gave a stern look. It was obvious they were concerned for Louis. It annoyed her.  “Are you disobeying an order from me?” She glared. It was only a simple glare but it had a paralyzing effect on them. Since she was always so blank and somewhat gentle around them, they forgot just how dangerous she really was.  “No…..” She started the engine and began driving towards Seraph Magazine’s Headquarters in A district. The men gave each other a brief glance and looked away. It was a two-hour drive, traffic contributing to the long hours before they reached the huge commercial office building. It was similar to theirs but there was a big banner on it with the name of the magazine printed on it.  They immediately alighted and walked into the reception. Louis walked in front to the front desk which was slightly higher than normal. It meant she looked awkward in front of it because of her height. She got even more annoyed.  “Hello, ma’am. How may I help you?” “I’m here to see Seraph. I have an appointment” “Please wait”  The receptionist checked her desktop and her eyes widened for a bit.  “Y-You must be Miss Louis. Please come with me” Unlike Louis’s office, they took a normal elevator to the top floor where the executive offices were located. The receptionist personally led her to the floor where she would meet the owner, Seraph. They entered through the very expensive mahogany doors into a sparkly office.  Behind the desk was a man Louis would describe as colorful. His platinum blonde hair had a purple highlight in it. His face looked modified with plastic surgery, very good high maintenance ones. He wore an expensive silver suit with very feminine modifications; his back and chest were showing with a lace lining.  “Welcome to my office, Miss Louis” “Seraph. When did you become so bold?” her voice was so cold, it was like the temperature in the room dropped. The man behind the desk was clearly intimidated but he smiled professionally.  “When your secretary called to make an appointment, I thought I would take this time to invite you. I have planned a good reception” “I don’t want anything of yours” she scathingly replied, sitting on his couch, Hansel and Solomon stood guard beside her. Seraph chose to remain standing. He had a high standing in the underworld too but nothing compared to the CEO of the Negotiators. His position was a bit special though.  He was one of the openly gay leaders of the underworld and his content provided to the needs of the more perverted members. He had a lot of useful connections. He also had very intimate relationships with them.  Louis was different. She held in her hands valuable information about celebrities, wealthy and influential leaders including leaders in the underworld. She was someone who no one would mess with directly.  Louis didn’t hate him because he was gay or promiscuous. The main reason why she hated him was because of his special content. She vowed to never visit his office and never interact with him. Their dealings were carried out by her employees. To think Matt could be violated by these kinds of people infuriated her to no end.  “What do you want to know, Miss Louis?” “I want to buy information. It’s about Erin Walsh” “Wow, I’m so honored. I never imagined the leader of the Negotiators would ever come to negotiate with me” “Would you sell it or not?” Seraph finally relaxed and sat on his chair, smiling.  “It depends on the price you’re willing to pay for it. I can’t accept money” “For a dead celebrity? You’re asking for too much” “Since this information is important enough to bring you here, I’d say it’s not too much. Let’s exchange information” “No” “.......Pardon?” “No. Information from the Negotiators is paid for regardless of the person asking. That’s the rule” Louis was firm in her rejection.  “I only came here because I considered your position as a leader to negotiate with you for information I personally need. If you’re going to take advantage of this, I have other sources. I don’t have the time to waste with you” Seraph was clearly caught off guard and could only stare dumbfounded. Louis’s blank expression and stance never wavered. Solomon and Hansel could only marvel at the way she handled the situation.  They were startled when Seraph suddenly started laughing. They got into a defensive stance but Louis just watched him with blank eyes.  “They were right, you are an impressive person. The rumors don’t do you justice, King of Information or should I say, Queen?” “Titles do not concern me. Neither does flattery. I’ll ask again. Are you selling?” “I’ll give it to you but in exchange for something. I don’t want information again. What I want is your son” Before they could blink, a knife was etched into the wall beside Seraph’s head. A thin line of blood appeared on his face. Several gun clicks sounded in the room, including the ones belonging to Solomon and Hansel.  Louis stood up and walked to where Seraph was seated. Despite being shorter than him, she loomed over him with another knife in hand.  “If you ever mention my son with your filthy mouth again, I’ll rearrange that plastic face faster than you can scream” the venom in her tone made her sound like an asura from hell.  “I-I didn’t mean it like that. It’s for a photoshoot! A photoshoot!” “Did you invite me with plans to dare me, Sean Philips?”  Using his real name was an effective way to scare him since not many people knew it. It was one of the secrets she held.  “No, I would never!”  “I won’t ask again. Will you sell it to me or not?” “Y-Yes!”  “Name your price. I’ll take it as soon as possible” she withdrew, talking like nothing happened. Everyone else felt a chill in their souls.  The transaction concluded, they walked out of the office. Once they got back into her car, Louis saw a message enter her phone.  [You really are too violent] She let the phone drop to the floor and stomped the phone.  “Get me a new one tomorrow, Hansel” “Yes ma’am”
