“Matt, this is Detective Grisha. He will be staying with us for a few days”
“He will?” Matthew said this, the same time Mikhail said;
“I will?”
“Yes. We are in the middle of a very important case together so he has to stay here with us. Are you uncomfortable with it, Matt?”
The boy nodded his head. Mikhail sincerely felt the same since he hadn’t been informed of such an arrangement. Louis’s tone, however, left no room for discussion. Mikhail couldn’t argue with Louis in front of her child.
“Don’t worry detective, it’s only for a few days. You can call your superiors and your family to let them know you’re safe. I have already said I would not harm you”
Mikhail thought if the mother didn’t harm him, the child would. For such a young child, he had an overpoweringly judgemental stare.
