Chapter 54 : A Threat
Ruby’s POV
I should’ve felt cold, sitting there in my wolf form while everyone else had shifted. I should’ve felt out of place, exposed.
But all I felt was… seen.
Alaric’s arms wrapped around me, strong and sure. His scent surrounded me—like pine smoke and moonlight—and his warmth pressed against my fur as if trying to reach the very soul buried inside.
Then his voice, low and steady, broke through the storm in my chest.
“You don’t have to worry. Even if I don’t have all my memories… I’ll stay by your side. Until you give birth. And after that—if you’ll have me, I’ll stay longer than forever.”
My breath caught.
He didn’t remember the late nights we shared under the stars. He didn’t remember the first kiss, or how he used to brush my hair back with such tendern
