Long ago, when the world was still young, a magnificent race lived freely on earth and in the sky, they were the majestic and immensely powerful, wise, supreme, even before the arrival of the lords, they were the dragons.
For thousands and thousands of winters, dragons reigned absolute as the most venerable and powerful race of all Tantus, due to their absurd longevity they were considered immortal, since it is estimated that about twenty thousand winters live, capable of seeing many, many generations of all the other races. Naturally powerful in the element of fire, which by the way was yours since birth, thus becoming the first among all peoples to know the elemental strength, there was never a record of a dragon using another element, they are probably also capable of developing them, but only their absurd flames were enough for them. Dragons could have reigned forever, with wisdom and power, they could have been the great kings the world should follow, but it was not meant to be... They had a defect, perhaps strange, or just natural to them, blind passion for gold, his pleasure was not in enjoying his riches, but simply having them in his possession, lying on them and rejoicing, and not just gold, but silver and jewelry of all kinds, until one day their passion became so overwhelming that nothing else could stand in the way of their goals, neither respect nor scruples, only cold greed for wealth, and the great kings of the past, when the world was still different, arose and waged war against such powerful and immense enemies. It was at this time that Lurien, the first sorceress, obtained the elemental domain, and began to transmit her knowledge, which was added and improved, thus resulting in magic, and showing that dragons were not the only privileged, this was the ultimate weapon for war against the flying lizards. For many more winters they fought endlessly, the dragons were being defeated, little by little and at great cost, perhaps not only by the strength, but by the surprising courage of their enemies, who were also wrong in their purposes... The dragons, finally defeated, gave way to the divine punishment of the great God, who decimated Tantus and spared only his faithful, while they were doomed and took refuge on a huge island, without a name, and surrounded by the magical fog, of uncertain creation, probably by the dragons themselves, so that nothing could reach them again. But they had accumulated great wealth in their ages of rule, and their kingdom was now practically swimming in gold. For much longer their survivors were delighted with their conquests, living in peace and distant in their passions, but like any race destined to grow, once again they were dissatisfied with what was for everyone a lot, but for them it was very little. A civil war broke out, and their powers could be felt on other continents, for the most trivial reason that intelligent creatures could have: greed. Again they were disappearing, it was when a family destined to save their race appeared, Fahamuth, the titan, and Dayamath, the queen, both in their unmatched fifteen pairs of wings, controlled their peers as the most powerful family among all, because beside them were Krantenion, Zairys and Taelion, their three children. Krantenion, the firstborn and holder of eight pairs of wings, discovered that the war had been orchestrated by his father's rival, Galvatorix, the giant, since the ages when they lived in the rest of the world. With thirteen pairs of wings, Galvatorix defeated Krantenion and would have killed him, but his majestic father saved him and assumed "The Titanic Battle of Fire", for days the two rivals fought so violently that all the others were just flying over their great island, in waiting for the combat to end, until Fahamuth finally won and peace returned home, but Galvatorix's legacy would remain. Thousands of winters later it was discovered that dragons have a wing limit, fifteen pairs was the maximum, as their backs no longer provided space. Fahamuth and Dayamath remained as the supreme kings of their people, and it was at this time that the discord of the power broke out in the outside world, seduced by the promises of endless wealth offered by the lord of darkness, who entered the kingdom and took them, even the kings together they were no match for Zeijadel and could do nothing to prevent this, many dragons abandoned their king's leadership and went to the new war on the side of evil, causing a tremendous disadvantage for the kingdoms that fought against them. Fahamuth and his family, unlike the others, lacked the immense natural greed of their brothers, and among them Krantenion rose in defense of the right side, on the same day that he completed his ten pairs of wings:
- My son, I feel that if you leave, you will never return. – said Dayamath.
- If this is really your choice, just follow the path you deem correct. – said Fahamuth.
- And so I will. – replied Krantenion.
- Galvatorix left a legacy that can still last for a long time. Erase it for us and make us proud. – said Zairys.
- Zairys is always thrilling me with her cheap philosophies... He is going to get rid of paying our bets, is not he? Your winged mouse! – said Taelion.
- Hahahahahaha... – Krantenion.
- Taelion... Always so kind in his daydreams. – Zairys.
- What remarkable children you gave me, Day. – Fahamuth.
- Do not want to test my patience, Fah. – Dayamath.
Krantenion left, leaving his unique family towards the outside world, so long unknown to him, and entered the war as a great savior. Initially harassed, as they naturally took him as another enemy, but that judgment was quickly erased by his spectacular battles against his former brothers, even though he was only one, Krantenion was visibly superior to the others, who cursed and cursed him in each defeat, but the world was big and he was lonely, although he was the imbalance in favor of the allies, many times the kingdoms still needed to fight alone, but they had learned a lot from him. One day a great enemy appeared, it was Smerus, the evil one, probably the only one capable of facing him. Their fight was memorable, but Smerus, on his way to defeat, fled to fight another day, a day that never came. While Krantenion fought fiercely in Meira, Smerus mercilessly attacked the continent of Tantus, certain of a smashing victory over the armies of Valdnar Calvera, he was surprised by the determination and incredible strength of a simple moghran, Artan, the skilled, who simply murdered him, thus stealing Krantenion's opponent. During the many battles of the campaign he met great friends, like Artan himself, Kin Lyeben and the great master Tantaluz Primadril, later he also met Arkan, the sailor, with whom he created a strong friendship, he was also very honored by the kingdoms, who knowing the Dragons' taste for treasure built him a majestic golden castle and gave him half the continent, now he was the great king Krantenion, owner of his own kingdom.
But one day he had the most unusual of surprises, while wandering through the skies of his lands, Krantenion was intercepted in mid-air by a strange and beautiful woman with very long black hair and an unparalleled power, at first he imagined she was a lady, but he was mistaken, it was Ultima, the princess of Darkan, who, oddly enough, wanted a pet...
- Come big lizard, you belong to me now!
- But who the hell are you???
- I am Ultima, and as of today, I am your owner!
- No one will ever tame a fire king!
Ultima's fight against Krantenion was indescribable, devastating many kilometers of the region on the west side of the Tantus River, but the warrior only played with him, as she seemed to be as powerful as the lords, and after a long time a man appeared, the older brother of the princess, Omega, who detained his sister in a scene described by the dragon himself as "children arguing". For his extreme wisdom he was considered the wise adviser of the world, and for a long time he protected his kingdom and many others, as a great king, friend and ally, rose again in combat against his ex-brothers in “That Great Battle”, this time at the side of the guardians, showing again his terrible power, helping in the decisive victory of the kingdoms over the lord of darkness, Zeijadel, and soon afterwards he became, honorably, the new Lord of Fire, more than suitable for him. Krantenion maintained the balance of the world perfectly in its function, and as it was his desire he became the greatest of his race, thus discovering that his true passion was not in wealth, but in the world itself, the most peculiar and worthy of dragons.
