Chapter 10

Zoes POV continues

Late in the evening after me and my mom had finished eating dinner where she told me about her first day, she looks to be in love with her new work place she says the staff are welcoming and dedicated. The work load is massive as the hospital is two times the one she used to work at back in our home time but she enjoys the challenge. She also has made friends and will be inviting them over one day. I'm really happy for my mom. Ever since my dad died her job and me have taken centre stage in her life. She hasn't had much life outside that. I didn't pay attention previously because I was also lonely but now I realise she must feel really lonely. I mean dad was her best friend also so she lost twice in that accident. I wish she can find someone else to spend the rest of her life with. I would be going to college next year and I don’t want to leave her alone. These thoughts play at my mind it’s sadden me a lot. She goes on to tell me that the hospital is 8 floors up. Which is sick really. She says it houses not only people from this town but also treats neighbouring cities which then makes sense. They are apparently the best hospital in this region. I can’t help smile seeing her this happy about her new adventure. After the dinner I went back to my room to do my homework. thankfully today it's i only have one. it took me about 30 minutes to finish it by that time it was already 8pm. I headed to my bathroom and took a rather quick shower. When I was finished, while spotlight a towel around my bodum I went to my closet to pick up my over sized shirt that I like to wear when I sleep and a pair of socks my feet tend to get a bit cold sometimes. I decide to call Lisa as promised. "I've been waiting for your call.i thought you forgot me again today" her voice came on the other line. "I could never forget you. You're my best friend forever" I tried to assure her. She went on to ask about my day to which I offloaded on her on what happen between me and our interaction that is. Of course she asked me to describe the demi-God in question and boy was I descriptive. I mean I could see him in my mind as if he was standing beside me. she also thinks he is into me and thus decided to coach me on how to act on our next interaction. that is when I told her also about the house party coming up. "You are actually going to a house party ? Like you? Zoe freaken Woods?" She asked unable to comprehend. "Yes I'm going" I told her. "And you were not forced" she asked in disbelief. "No I was not forced. I told you new city, new me" I said to her I understand her reluctance to believe me. I mean I'm that girl with a book or laptop on a weekend when other kids my age are out having fun and that being my idea of fun. after telling her all the happenings of my life. I asked her about her what was happening in the town since I have left. She told about school being the same and that b***h face Hannah is trying to make her life miserable but failing because unlike me she is not at all scared of her. We ended the call with an I love your and another promise to speak again tomorrow. I need to brush my teeth throwing on the bed I head to the bathroom to do just that, whilst brushing I rear my phone ping from the bedroom so I go to check and it's from Kate.

Kate: hey Zoe.

Reading it brings a smile to my face I imagine her face in real time as she types.

Zoe: Hey Kate what's up

Kate: Do you have an idea what you want wear on Saturday for the party.

Hmm the party invite has kind of faded to the back of my mind I even forgot to tell my mother about it. To be honest this is out of my composure zone so much so I don’t even know what you wear when invited to one.

Zoe: I haven't really thought about it yet. I have never been to such a thing before. I'm assuming it's just a house party so I like to be as comfortable as possible.

Kate: I guess we will see on Friday whilst shopping then okay we like and not. Do they have like a theme or what

Zoe: I really don’t know, but I don’t think so. It's just s house party .

Kate: mmm ok

Zoe: Do they serve alcohol at these things because I've never drank before?

I know alcohol makes you do stuff and as first time it will probably knock me out and I wouldn't want that so I'm going to sit out the alcohol if they serve it I'll rather drink water.

Kate: Yes there will be booze. I don’t think you should drink if you don’t want. I'm sure they will have non alcoholic drinks also

Zoe: I suppose. What are you up to?

Kate: just finishing up with some homework then bathing before talking to mat

Zoe: Awe you guys are so cute. 🥰🥰

Gosh I just love their love. It's so pure and cute

Kate: 😍😍 Thanks. I need to run catch you later. Night Zoey

Zoe: Night Kate. I wrote back.

Taking to Kate brought smile on my face hopefully good dreams also. While I was talking to Kate I had managed to get myself ready for bed. Getting on the bed. I switch off the side light, pulling up the loose covers over myself, I lay on my pillow within 10 minutes in off to dream land there I find the smile that has been taunting me whole day today and I couldn't be more pleased as I dream about a man I've only met today.
