And then just like that, the darkness vanished. I floated above my body. I was the wind, I was the very atoms of existence. I could see everything, hear everything. I could feel nothing. My body lay cold on the floor, dark hair spilling on a pool of blood; ghastly, beautiful, dead. My halo had disappeared, along with my horns. I was flimsy; human. The sword stained with my blood clamored to the floor, falling from Elijah’s hands. He blinked, and blinked again, then fell to his knees, a wretched cry tearing from his throat. “Dear God, what have I done...” He whispered, but to me, it was an echo. Am I a ghost? Yes; the atoms next to me answered. Can’t you see your own body? The secrets of the universe unfolded in front of my eyes. Or I had simply understood what had been there all along,
