Demon emotions have always been wildly different from human emotions. For one, inferior demons couldn’t distinguish emotions, so they were constantly in a state of numbness, even when disguised as human beings. Ever seen a human being who looked like they couldn’t feel a single emotion? Stoic, dull, almost inhuman…? Yeah, those are inferior demons in disguise. For higher demons, feeling emotion was easier, but it was still different from that of mortals. Where humans experienced prolonged reaction, for superior demons it was more of a series of short outburst, and then nothing. It’s one of the main reasons why demons are known to be impulsive, and could rarely feel empathy even if they genuinely try.
