Chapter 13- The Fate Of Those Eight Elite Killers

1062 Words
Now that the business had been concluded, everyone presents relaxed and began to chat over the wine cup.   After dinner, those rich merchants left Nunsmere Hotel with pleasant smiles. And after watching them leave, Mandy and Elvis also drove back home. As soon as the two of them entered into the living room, Nancy came up to Mandy in a hurry, taking her by the arm, and asked, “Mandy, Gordon said that both Lord Mayor and General Clarke has gone to Greens Jewelers today, and is it really true?”   “Calm down, mom.” Mandy patted her hand and then told her all the details of what had happened today.   Shocked at Mandy’s words, Nancy froze for a moment. She hadn’t expected David to not only take those rich merchants to Greens Jewelers but also buy a lot of jewels. What’s more, he had even drawn a painting himself and given it to Mandy as a gift.   “Why did they do this?” After getting over the initial shock, Nancy asked in disbelief.   Mandy also did not know the reason for it, but she sneaked a look at Elvis, her intuition telling her it must be because of Elvis.   “Maybe it is because Mandy is a favorite of fate.” Aware of Mandy looking at him, Elvis laughed.   “You shut up! You’re a jinx to Mandy,” snarled Nancy.   If not for Elvis, Mandy wouldn’t have taken over the failing Greens Jewelers, let alone have wasted the time of her youth waiting for him for seven years.   “Please mind your way of speaking to Elvis, mom. He and I are legally married now,” said Mandy angrily.   With those words, she pulled Elvis into her room.   “Bah! Just a good-for-nothing gigolo,” hissed Nancy, seeing a disappearing view of Elvis’s back. Then she took out her phone to search for David’s information online.   In her view, David spared no effort to help Mandy, possibly because of Mandy’s beauty. If so, she would send Elvis packing without hesitation. She would never let him be Mandy’s obstacle to happiness again.   “Don’t take what my mom said too much to heart. She’s just letting off steam.” Mandy said. She held Elvis tightly, the rims of her eyes going pink. She felt very guilty about the scorn he had suffered from her family.   “It’s OK. I’ll never make a fuss about the trifles with her.” Elvis consoled her, softly patting her on the back.   Just then, his cell phone vibrated in his pocket. He took out the phone and found it was a text message from Martin.   “Sorry, Mandy, I have something really urgent to do now. I have got to go.” With those words, he left in a hurry.   “Good evening, Your Grace. Those eight elite killers are coming this way.” On a path not far from Mandy’s home, Martin jumped out behind a tree, went down on one knee and said.   “Well, this time I will root out the Black Mafia.” Elvis sneered, thinking nothing of those eight elite killers.   After a while, Elvis was vaguely aware of footsteps behind him. Because of his adventures in the army, his powers of sensory discrimination had been improved a lot. Thus, he noticed those eight elite killers the moment they sneaked upon him.   “Just stand here. I’ll deal with them myself.” Elvis said to Martin. With those words, Elvis rushed up to those eight elite killers at a lightning speed.  Recently, he had suffered lots of derogatory remarks from Mandy’s family, so it’s a good time to vent his anger.   Before the enemy could react, Elvis caught one of them on the chest with a heavy blow.   Having suffered badly bruised ribs, that man flight upside down in the sky and finally struck the ground heavily. Obviously, he could not survive.   The remaining seven men were extremely terrified by what they saw, wondering if Elvis possessed supernatural powers.   Trembling with fear, they attempted to draw out their pistols. However, before they could do it, Elvis squatted slightly and swept his leg forward. The next moment, the stones and sand on the ground were surrounded by strong airflow and shot towards them, accurately puncturing the throats of six of them.   In a flash, with their wounds gushing blood, those six men collapsed and died at the same time.   Seeing that, the last surviving member of them stood there, paralyzed with fear.   “Don’t kill me, please. I can do anything for you!” That man went down on his knees begging for mercy.   “Tell me all you know in connection with the Black Mafia,” said Elvis coldly, looking at him with contempt.   “We mainly earn money by collecting protection money and doing dirty work. But Kelvin has a brother, whose name is Luke Black. He is an unlawful businessman abroad. He often smuggles a large number of goods from abroad into T nation, and then let Kelvin sell it on the sly.” The man replied honestly, couldn’t help the quiver in his voice.   However, as soon as he had finished his words, Elvis killed him without the slightest hesitation.   “The Black Mafia is indeed involved in smuggling. Dig into this, Martin. We must root out the power behind them.” Elvis said, looking quite grim.   The moment he had found out the cause of Simon’s illness, he had suspected that Kelvin was in collusion with a foreign power. But he hadn’t expected Kelvin to be so bold to smuggle goods in T nation, which was a felony.   However, maybe they could take this opportunity to root out the power behind the Black Mafia. By then, Elvis would no longer have to conceal his identity.   “Yes, Sir,” Martin replied respectfully.   He hadn’t expected that Elvis’s fighting capacity had been quite improved in those short days, which made him reverence more toward Elvis. He vowed to himself that he would do his best to fulfill the task.
