When it's just us

Chapter 2

I started high school during the covid pandemic. My school was still going in groups so I haven't even met most of my school learners. I was just glad that my friend Monica was in the same group as mine. We were friends since the 7th grade. I've known her since the 3rd grade though. She was a nice girl. Not easily influenced and she was also shy.

When I had my first crush in primary she was the first one to know. She knew everything about me and I also knew everything about her. However our friendship was really weird. I think it was because we were two different people from different places. People realize a lot when they get to high school. And the both of us went our separate ways.

It was nothing of a big deal because we still spoke after that. We weren't enemies or friends who betrayed each other, we were just people who weren't meant for each other. I hope things are going well with her life. On the other hand I started befriending a girl named Celine. And we both wanted to try out for athletics. I was gooood at running in primary so why not try out in high school? Lol that was a bad idea everyone seemed better than me so I had to step back and let the pros take over. I was kinda lazy anyway my friend Celine still participated and I was there to support her.

That weekend was the interhouses and she was chosen. I went to support her as my friend. She had a low self asteem, so I was there to make sure she believes in herself.

That day everyone was there. The other group of the learners in my school, the new ones I never knew about... yeap everyone. On that same day some boy approached me. I've seen him at the athletics practice before, his name was Keabetswe. Kea was one of the athletes and he was very good he knew was good but his friend, James was better. Kea asked for my number and I gave him, he simply seemed like a nice guy or so I thought. He was in grade 11, and he was 18. He asked me to be his girlfriend a few days later and we dated. He was my first boyfriend.

Kea and I would meet at breaks and spend most of them together. Our relationship was weird, high school is weird. I don't know why I rushed into dating that quickly but yes It is what it is or so it was.

I never really loved Kea he was actually a jerk. Dated everyone he came across with so we separated. I'm never dating anyone without getting to know them first.
