Chapter 2: Happy Birthday

960 Words
*Levi POV*       "[H]appy Birthday Lyddie!" We all sang.     Lydia blew out her candles surrounded by Lylah, Logan, Mom, Dad,  Aunt Elizabeth, Uncle Grayson, Axyl, and I, and a bunch of her friends.  It was her fifteenth birthday; her fifteenth f*****g birthday.  Fifth-teen years ago I went to the hospital with my Grandma.  I was only twelve at the time so I was pretty clueless.  I am the oldest child, at age twenty-six  Logan is the second eldest at age eighteen.  Lydia is the middle child, at fifth-teen.  The youngest (so far) is Lylah, only at age twelve; my parents have s*x like rabbits.  I'm surprised they haven't had ten kids.     Mom sliced the cake into neat squares and put the slices on purple paper plates.  She put ice cream on the paper plate next to the cake.       "Happy birthday Lyds."  Mom said, but then followed with, "How do feel about shifting tonight?"  She smiled brightly.     "I feel terrified.  But then I feel excited that I can finally go on a run with Levi or Axyl."  Lyddie frown-smiled.     Axyl looked towards me and chuckled, and I got the message.  The party was held outside, next to the pool.  My mother looked at both of us and saw in our facial expressions what we were planning.     "Don't you even think about it Levi,"  She said my name sternly.  But, I ignored her.     Axyl and I slinked towards an unsuspecting Lydia.       "W-What are you guys doing?" Lydia asked innocently, but still worried.     Before she could say anything more, I went and put my arms underneath hers, and Axyl grabbed her legs.       "Stop Levi! Axyl!" my innocent sister exclaimed. She saw her fate.  Axyl and I carried her over to the edge of the pool, where we swung her back and forth about three times until we launched her into the pool.  Some people were dumbfounded, and others were cheering.  My mother thought, was quite angry.  The one thing in the world I was "scared" of was my mother.  She is a firecracker.     "Levi Lawson Taylor!  She is soaked! How is she going to open her presents?"  My mom calmly yelled.     "LEVI!!!" Lydia shouted angrily.  She acts all sweet and shy, but when she's angry she's not so f*****g sweet.       "Axyl had the idea first!"  I whined.       She then dashed her eyes back and forth between her cousin and her brother.  Her eyes landed on the snickering Axyl.       "Axyl Nicolai Corazon," she said.  "Why would you suggest that profound idea?"  She whined.  Axyl was like a third brother to me and my sisters.  She must have been very angry with him.  She is one of those people that get quieter the angrier they get.      Lydia got out of the water and walked slowly up to Axyl and me.  Bystanders were snickering, and my mother and father looked pissed.  Axyl got the hint and started backing up to run for our life when our father's loud voice.  Even though I am the current Alpha of my pack, my father still has high authority.     "Alpha Levi, Axyl," he yelled.  "Stop harassing my sweet Lyddie."  He did a complete 180 on his emotions.  He walked over to her and embraced her in a hug and ruffled her hair. "My baby is growing up," he said.     He let go of her and went back his wife and former Luna, Rachel, otherwise known as Mom to me.  He walked to her smirking, and she pulled back her arm and smacked the back of his head.            It was about ten minutes after we ate when Lydia opened her presents.  She got clothes, a new phone, a shitload of money, but I didn't give her my present yet.  My mom exclaimed, "Well, that's the last of the presents." She smiled.  Lydia plastered a smile, but I knew she was still hurt that I didn't give her anything, or so she thought.     "Lyddie-"  I said.  She looked at me confused.  "Happy Birthday."  I whipped out a pretty pink envelope that said:         To: Lydia Anneliese         From: Your favorite brother      "Levi!  I knew you weren't completely arrogant!"  Lyddie smiled and took the card.  She opened it up and read the outside.  "Happy birthday to a sister that has the best brother ever?"  She read the card out loud.     I grinned when she opened the card and saw six small pieces of paper.  She picked one of them up and held it closer to her face.  I smirked when I saw her face light up.       "OH MY GOD LEVI!!!"  My wolf, Ajax whimpered in pain from Lyddie's loud and high-pitched scream.  You could tell that she was ecstatic, You could also tell that other people were annoyed by her voice.       "Well, what is it?" Mom says squinting.  She looks twenty-five, but she is actually forty-five, she had me when she was seventeen.       "It's six VIP front row tickets to the band 27 Seconds to Scotland!"  Lyddie yelled.     "Who?"  Mom said.       "Mom, there bands and singers other than Celine Dion and The Backstreet Boys,"  I said sighing.     "Levi!" Mom smacked me on the back of my head.     "Thank you so much, Levi!" Lyddie sniffled and hugged me.  She was so small compared to me. I was tall, 6'4.  She was only 5'3, so I was quite literally over a foot taller than her.  "When is the concert?"     "Tomorrow night," I said smugly.  Lyddie grabbed my collar and she went on her tippy-toes and whispered to me, "I love you, Levi."      "I love myself, too."  I joked.     "Stop being such a narcissist, I'm telling you something!"  She screamed again.     Please tell her to stop screaming. Jax complained.     "Jax says to stop screaming,"  I say.     "I can't wait until my wolf will argue with Jax."  Lydia smiled.
