Chapter 47 Hana grabbed for the fence wire as heat rolled over her from the source of the fire. The flickering orange light blinded her and her fingers grasped at nothing. The boundary had gone. Already committed, she felt herself falling forwards. The ground rose to meet her and she put her hands out, jarring her wrists and arms as she made contact. A cliff side swung away beneath her as though a giant took a bite from the hard earth. Hana felt wetness beneath her palms and lifted her hands. The orange glow revealed cuts to her fingers from the barbed wire fence lying beneath her. Strong hands had hauled out the posts and laid them flat, spreading the wire like a sheet.
