Chapter 33 Hana woke with a start and lay awake, watching the street lights play on the ceiling from a c***k in the curtains. The room felt different to home and it took a moment for her to remember. She’d run away again, after making Logan promise he wouldn’t do likewise. Darkness penetrated the room and her heart in equal measure. She lay in the inky gloom and strained her ears for the familiar bird sounds she was used to, hearing nothing from their suburban cousins. “Please bless Izzie and her babies,” Hana whispered to God, at least guaranteeing his wakefulness in the silent world around her.
