I opened my eyes to find myself in a vast garden surrounded by towering trees. Their branches were heavy with all kinds of fruits, each one shimmering as if it had been crafted from gold.
“Where is this place?”
“So beautiful."

I kept calling their names until it dawned on me that I was completely alone.
I was drawn to one of the towering trees and I stretched my hands to pluck one of its fruits.
Just as my fingertips were about to brush the surface, the world around me dissolved. In the blink of an eye, I was back at the scene of the accident.
“What's happening?”
I watched as the paramedics lifted the lifeless body of a tall slim man onto a stretcher and wheeled him into the back of the ambulance beside mine.
