Aura Fire

1565 Words
I don't hate humans, I don't intend to be friendly with monsters either. But one thing I know is that I am no longer human. If I don't kill they will kill me instead. Only the strong can survive in this world.   If I want to survive then I have to become strong, and if I want to become strong, I have to kill. Simple as that.   I could see the chaos caused by the humans. Dozens of monsters have already been slain, some tried to fight the humans only to be killed by the knights without achieving anything. The monsters were powerless, even the strong Rare rank monster had no chances of surviving. Cut down by the blades of the knights in just one swing. Which explains the strength of these five humans, each of them was stronger than me no doubt. Most of the monster has already been killed or escaped.   The humans were searching through the corpse now, I could see the mages using some kind of spell to collect some kind of solid ball from the monster's body.   I didn't know about this, nor did I find it from any monster I killed or harvested aura from.   I had no reason to stay here, I don't have a chance of killing any of them, even if I do I still need more time to actually kill one. No matter who I am now, I still used to be a human too. But that doesn't mean I will hesitate if any of them find trouble with me, I will at least take down one if they managed to find and chased me.   But that was not happening because my stealth has reached incredible heights.   [Stealthh(R)> Stealth(Elite)] It already rank up a few moments ago and just to be sure I used the skill level up token on it.I was putting my life on the line so I cannot afford to be petty. [Used skill token] [Stealth(Elite)> Stealth(Mystic)] [Stealth(Mystic)- Removes the presence of host instantly disappearing with no need for cover. Only skills or aura of higher ranking than mystic can detect the host]   I trusted that the skill will keep me undetected at all times. I need to move closer to them to use analysis. I want to find out the difference between a monsters status and humans.   The mage has made her way to the centre of the area and they laugh as she speaks probably celebrating their successful hunt. They also took the aura fire and shove it inside a bag on one of the mage's waists.   The humans didn't even check for any signs of a monster, as if no monster could even pose a threat to them. I use the trees and grass as I arrive closer and closer to one of the mage, sitting near a corpse of a minotaur as she looks at her loot.   Analyze! [Name - Alice Gungnir] Level:68 Age- 26 Species: Human Titles- Magic might Class- Battle Mage Skills- Bind,  Meteor shower, Fire manipulation, Language Comprehension, Mana regeneration, Quick feet, Magic shield.   It doesn't show any stats… which makes things complicated. System do you have an answer to this? [ Humanoid races are different from monsters] [The amount of health a humanoid race has does not matter if its head is chopped off] [The host should stop asking stupid questions]   Your piece of ungrateful s**t! I knew that you useless trash! I was just asking to confirm it.   I see, humans, no matter how strong they are if they lose their heads or have their heart pierced all they can do is die. Tch what a pitiful race unlike me of the mighty demon race! Ahem enough .. no need to boost my useless pride by myself.   I am still pissed that I was reincarnated into some dogshit monster. I would not have to go through all this trouble if I was born as a human. I could live life peacefully.   Grow up, go to some magic school, marry a beautiful wife, tch tch what a waste of this handsome face.   Sigh useless dreams of mine.   Back to the situation, I wonder if I could just kill the mage in one hit, I was pretty sure I can. But something was bothering me. When the monster attacked the mage before a kind of shield-like structure appeared covering the mage's body and the monster could not even penetrate it.   I don't know whether I can penetrate it or not. I had no plans of going against a group of humans from the start, but it seems I have to change my plan. I need that aura fire and more importantly, I want the skills that this woman mage has.   [Host has 100% chance of gaining the skill of Humanoid race using gluttony] [Host cannot gain any stats from Humanoid race using gluttony]   Quite a useful information that changed a lot of things. The system doesn't seem to like humans or beings of the humanoid race. The other thing is, there is a huge possibility that in the future I would have to shed a lot of human blood.   I don't like the idea, but I don't mind if it ensures my survival. Free skills are always welcomed! I can think of this later, now I need a way to get the aura fire from this mage. ...….   "Gather the cores of every monster, we cannot afford to waste time." The mage, Alice commanded the knights. It was a successful hunt for the team, they borrowed artefacts from the adventurer guild to make it possible so they cannot afford to fail this hunt. It was a common rank dungeon but they had other objectives other than clearing it. Artefacts cannot be wasted just for clearing a mere common rank dungeon. Everything was going as she planned or so she thought.   Without any notice,  a shadow jumped out of nowhere aiming straight for her head. Alice was frightened, she didn't notice or detect any monsters in the area so how could one appear so suddenly! She instantly activated her magic shield confident that it would protect her, but she would be disappointed. 'Crack, crac, crack!" Her magic shield broke instantly as the claws of the monster tore through it like paper, she immediately covered her head with her hands in hope that she could hopefully avoid her death, but the claws changed their target as it struck her waist swiftly. "Argghhh help!!!" "Help Alice immediately! It's an ambush! Ryan cast your shield to Alice quick!" But to the human's surprise, after the initial attack, no more attacks followed. the attacker was nowhere to be found. As if it vanished into thin air, which only left them more terrified. Did it run away or was it giving them a chance? ...…..............   I did not think much, all I had to do was attack the mage, and take the aura fire. There was no need to hesitate. It was a gamble attacking the mage but it paid off, my claws easily went through the mage's shield, it seems they really weren't strong after all. The monsters were stupid, when the humans attacked them instead of running away blindly if all of them attacked the humans, the humans could never kill so many of them. How can a group of humans do anything to hordes and hordes of monsters? The reason why humans keep getting stronger and advanced is because of their intelligence. The monster however from the short experience of life in this dungeon, do not seem to have much intelligence at all, they were all lacking in the INT stat.   I could see the humans shaking and preparing for an attack, but I won't continue. I got what I wanted, and I do not have the confidence of going against five of them. I got what I needed after all. The aura fire hehe Mission successful! The mage already seems to be better, she could stand and use skills after just an hour or so. I saw them make her drink some kind of potion, must be the "legendary" healing potions that were in every game I played.   Most likely, she is the head of the team, her allies are probably relying on her support to take them out of the situation. Will she choose to retreat or stay? Hehe if she chose to stay then I would have no choice but to wait patiently for another opening and ambush her. I need the monster corpses after all.   But I didn't think she would go crazy!   She immediately conjured brilliant balls of flames as she sends them flying in all directions burning the whole place. she burned down all the vegetation even the corpses as she continued her frenzy. NOOOO my LOOT!! Curse this woman! I should have killed her when I had the chance. Holy s**t! Can't mess with a crazy woman. She will really burn everything down! Once she completed her crazy feat, the five of them finished collecting their loot as they went back to the direction from where they came. It smelled terrible, I felt like vomiting. all the dead monsters were burnt to the ground leaving nothing but ashes. The once beautiful place has been turned upside down in a matter of hours. Regardless it's time to head back to my shelter.
