CHAPTER 4

Kizia woke up to a cold sensation landing on her lips. It was soft and delicate, leaving a wet feeling behind. She slowly opened her eyes, her vision still blurry. She used her hands to rub away the fuzziness. "Good morning, little one," he said cheerfully. "S-Sir A-Ashwin?" She sat up in bed, surprised. Who would have thought that upon waking up, his face would be the first thing she saw. "W-What are you doing here?" Instead of answering, he just gave her a mischievous smile. "Get up, little one. You're going out with me." He stood up and glanced at his wristwatch. "I'll give you 10 minutes," he said before leaving. It took a few minutes before it finally sank in that Ashwin was there and that the wet thing on her lips was Ashwin's morning kiss. That man is totally impudent! How come he always kisses her without her permission? Does he know that no man has ever dared to kiss her repeatedly like that? And it annoys her! Thinking she couldn't do anything about it. She's only a maid! And one wrong move might cost her the job. "I'll give you 10 minutes." "You're going out with me." She suddenly remembered. "Oh, s**t!" She quickly got up and headed straight to the bathroom. She needed to finish quickly before the ten minutes Ashwin gave her were up, otherwise, he might get angry again. "Failing to do your duty will receive the sweetest punishment from me." She paused as she recalled those words while washing. And honestly, she's spooked by people like him. ASHTON was meticulously counting the small tubes containing blue liquid in a glass box. "52 and still not enough," he burst out. He turned and observed the machines he used to create the blue liquid. They were still in the process of mixing various chemicals. He noticed one black liquid was running low. He turned, opened a cabinet, and took out a large bottle containing the black liquid. He filled the container with the nearly depleted black liquid, which was currently processing the creation of the blue liquid. "I'm almost there." KIZIA wore a floral off-shoulder blouse and black high-waist jeans that perfectly outlined her curves. Her slim waist and wide hips were also noticeable. She wore black sandals with a one-inch heel. She let her wet hair hang loose, reaching down to her waist. "I'm off," she sighed. She was about to open the door when it opened by itself. She saw a man in front of her wearing a glamorous smile. He looked pleasant and attractive. His hair was brushed back. He was wearing a black v-neck shirt with black denim jeans and a pair of white leather shoes. He's way hotter than his brothers. "Have you had a good enough look, little one?" He grinned mischievously, showing his set of white teeth. Her cheeks heated up, and she looked away. He might think she liked him. Well, she was just attracted, but it didn't mean she liked him. She still harbored resentment towards him for being bossy and arrogant. He grabbed her arm, and they went down the stairs hand in hand. She had no idea why her heart was beating rapidly like she had run a thousand miles. The feeling of electricity flowing through her body confused her a lot. She admitted that it was new to her, and she didn't like what was happening to her. "You're stunning today, little one. A simple outfit could show off your gorgeousness," he said before opening the door of his black Ferrari for her. She couldn't hide the smile on her lips after hearing his comment. It's a very simple word but could melt a person's heart. But, she's still puzzled by his changing behavior. It seemed like she was dealing with a different Ashwin every day. Very weird! ASHWIN'S driver drove the car, so they both sat in the backseat. She moved closer to the window, making sure there was a large gap between them. She was just being cautious because he might pull another prank on her. "Where are we going, Sir?" She broke the silence. "You'll know it as soon as we arrive there." She rolled her eyes. What else could she expect from her boss? It seems that this trip is boring. "Sir, it looks like someone's following us," said the driver. Following? She and Ashwin turned to look behind them simultaneously. She only saw two black cars that seemed to be traveling just like them. "The driver's being overly anxious," she thought. "Move to the left," Ashwin said calmly, arms crossed. The driver was about to turn the car, but he saw another black car approaching. "Go straight," his companion instructed. She grabbed the seat in front of her when the car suddenly sped up. She was shocked when the two guards in front of her and even the one in the back pulled out their guns. "W-Wait, w-why do you have guns?" "Shut up, little one!" She pressed herself against the window, seeing Ashwin also pulling out a gun. "Go back to the mansion," Ashwin ordered. "But sir, they're also behind us." "Just follow what I say." The driver had no choice but to return the way they came. "John, Mike, and Amper, fire at them," he commanded. Kizia bent down and cried on her knees. No matter how hard she tried to cover her ears, she could still hear the gunshots. This is the most horrible thing that has happened in her entire life. What could be worse than this? Amper and she were the only ones left in the car because Ashwin, John, and Mike had engaged in a firefight. "What are you doing, Amper?" She asked in panic when she saw Amper pushing Ashwin's driver out of the car. "We don't need him," he said, starting the car. "What?! We can't just leave him! After all his service, you're just going to abandon him? What about his family? They need to know and ---" "Shut up! Can you?" he shouted at her, slamming his hands on the steering wheel. She massaged her temples and looked back to see if there were still people trying to kill them. Her eyes narrowed upon seeing the two black cars approaching their direction. "Amper! We need to call the police! Please, Amper! There are more coming, and we can't handle them!" "I said QUIET!" She felt defeated. "H-How can I be quiet knowing that MY LIFE IS IN DANGER!" He faced her. "Do you know what's your problem? YOU'RE TOO NOSY! Is that the behavior of a Personal Maid? Huh!" "Behavior? Really, Amper?! You still have the nerve to ask me that. Why? Do you know the duties of a Personal Maid? And what your so-called Boss is doing to me?! Even I am confused, Amper! So you have no right to lecture me!" She heard him chuckle. "Why, Kizia? Why do you still have the nerve to be angry when you willingly took this job? Why? How well do you know the people you serve?" His words confused her. "Do you have any idea who they are? Because if not, then you have no right to complain." He said coldly, returning his gaze forward. She bowed her head at his response. She chose to remain silent because no matter what she did, she would still be wrong in his eyes. She clenched her fists and pinched her thighs harshly. She wanted to release all her anger, and that was the only way she could think of without anyone knowing. She tried to hold back the tears forming in her eyes, not wanting Amper to laugh at her if he saw her. She looked up when Amper started the car and stopped it beside Ashwin and Mike. She was surprised when the door next to her opened and John, who was covered in blood, quickly got in. She wondered why Mike made Ashwin sit in the back - right next to her while draping an arm over him as if calming him down. She couldn't tell if he had many injuries because he was bent over, and his hair covered half of his face. All she could see was his clenched jaw and gritted teeth. She felt something wrong about him, and she was sure of it - he's not okay. "Let's go, Amper! Hurry! As long as we can hold them off." "I understand." "W-Wait, w-what's happening?" She couldn't help but ask. She's clueless. But instead of answering, they remained silent. Yeah, right! Who is she to deserve an answer? She's just a lowly maid in their eyes. When she looked back at the two cars earlier, they were fighting off the people who blocked them. Does that mean those people are their allies? She's getting more and more confused about what's happening. "I'll kill y'all." Ashwin's cold words puzzled her. Even John, who was sitting next to her, seemed uneasy about their boss's demeanor. She slowly turned to look at him and recoiled when she saw him staring at her with a menacing smile. His mismatched eyes were darkening, adding to the fear and dread she felt. He's not Ashwin; he looks like he's being possessed by something. She moved backward when Ashwin tried to reach her. "Stop that, Ashwin." But instead of listening to Mike, Ashwin punched him in the face and then turned to her.
