"Grams, you really didn't need to drive us. The bus would have been better than a mothball smellin' spaceship," Cami whispered the last part to me.
"Nonsense! How could I let you two girls walk in the dark this event?" Ms. Rita glared at Cami through her mirror. "And this 'spaceship' isn't costing you a dime."
Now I laughed at that one while she held the most bitter look on her face.
Ms. Rita was like a second mom who actually cared. Whenever my parents would get into arguments at home she would know to come. It's like she had superpowers or something.
Flashing lights from an arena marked the spot where the concert was. Ms. Rita pulled to the side of the street to let us out. Cami couldn't get out any faster.
"Now you girls be careful in there," the elderly but youthful woman said turning around. Before I could follow behind Cami Ms. Rita caked me back.
"Be careful, Eve. Be aware of your surroundings. Make sure you and Camila stay together. Do you understand me?" Never in my years of knowing Ms. Rita have I ever seen this look of worry and seriousness on her face. What did she think was gonna happen? Us to get kidnapped?
"I'm sure we'll be fine, Ms. Rita." As I began to get out again she grabbed my hand and a shadow of blinding white light covered my eye prohibiting me to see.
A figure moved through my vision with a dark cape shielding its face. The only aspect of this stranger that I could see was its eyes. They
studied me intensely.
Its pupils were swimming in a sea of black and held no sense of life. They screamed inhumane.
With just a snap of this silhouette's fingers, a herd of dark shadows charged toward me viciously. My sight returned when the first shadow went through me.
My eyes grew wide as I looked at Ms. Rita who had a knowing and shocked look on her face.
"Did you see that? What was that?" I stuttered as my hands wouldn't stop trembling.
The longer she stared at me the more she creeped me out. "Thanks again for the ride."
I quickly slid out the car before she drove me off in the car with her.

After multiple comments from Amelia and her group of bitches, the concert finally started.
The MC came out to introduce Ryder Jaxx, but he detoured it by naming every single person on the stage from the musicians to the people recording. This was gonna be a while.
I couldn't get Ms. Rita's words out of my head. Or my weird daydream. It seemed so real.
Tingles went down my spine as the next name was called. An imaginary string was pulling my body closer to the stage.
"Our drummer, Mick Oz." Even though I have never heard that name before, I felt a connection to it when it was bellowed from the announcer's mouth.
About 70 feet away was the owner of that goofy smile. Seated in a blood red drum set.
