Chapter Eighteen
Although Jeremy very much hoped that Judith would accept his proposal and all that came with it, he didn’t want to mislead her. That would only cause problems for both of them later. He wanted her to enter into this new relationship—new life—with her eyes open, accepting all of its terms with full understanding of what she was promising.
The week, therefore, was equal parts pleasure and pain. Each night they went to bed at 9:00, or even earlier, spending three or four hours immersed in each other’s bodies. Judith was more stimulated than she’d ever been, more satisfied than she’d ever been, more aware of her body than she’d ever been, and yet Jeremy denied her frequently.
