Chapter 14: You Were Warned
Angelica's POV
As soon as the front door shut, I felt my back and head slam against something hard. I gasped at the sudden impact against my body, and realized Beck had just slammed my body against the car. He jammed his right leg between my legs, gripped his right hand on my neck and smacked the left one right next to my head, the sound of his hand smacking glass was reverberating in my ears.
He had moved his face close to mine, maybe four inches between our noses. I could feel his hot breath hit my face and I could smell the mint he was sucking on before.
"Listen to me, and listen good, little girl." he growled at me. "I am the owner of this house, not you. And now, I am the owner of you. So, having said that, you better change that little attitude of yours, because I won't hesitate to change it for you. You may think your life is terrible now, but trust me, it could be way worse that what you have now."
He pushed away from the car, away from me, after his little temper tantrum, and stalked towards the front door, leaving me behind, stunned and pinned to the car like he was still pressed against me. After a moment, and him slamming the front door, I was finally able to regain my sense and move. I looked down the driveway, at my escape, but sighed. I couldn't leave Wes behind, so there was no point in doing this.
I walked towards the front door and into the house. I walked into the first room I came to and saw it was the living room. Inside there was Peter and another man. They were talking and at the sounds of footsteps, they looked at me. I noticed it was the guy who had put a gun to Melanie's head. He was tall, tan and muscular. He had short black hair, bright green eyes and had tattoos covering both arms and one on his neck.
"Oh, Angel!" Peter said, a little too excited. "It's nice to see you again!" I didn't get to see him again after we got caught by Beck. Beck no longer trusted him like that and sent him away. Peter walked over and hugged me, which I returned. That is, until there was literal growling echoing in the room. I looked up and saw Beck standing on the stairs, glaring down at us.
Peter ignored Beck's growl and continued to hug me anyways. When he finally decided to pull away, the other man walked over to us.
"Angel, I would like you to meet Patrick. Patrick this is Angel." Peter said. I looked at Patrick and had a pretty evenly set face, like he didn't show his emotions too often. Patrick stuck out his hand to shake.
"Nice to meet yah." he said, his voice deeper than what I originally guessed it to be. I grabbed his hand and nodded. I looked back up to the stairs, to see if Beck was going to growl again, but he was gone.
"So, where is Wes?" I asked.
"In his room, getting settled in." Peter answered.
"And where is that?" I asked.
"Upstairs." he said and I rolled my eyes.
"Well, can you bring me there?" I asked, slowly, and he nodded. Finally!
We walked upstairs, Peter in front of me and Patrick behind, and walked down six door before we stopped in front of a dark brown door.
"Here we are." Peter said. I reached around him and pushed the door open. I looked inside to see Wesley sitting on the large bed, and Beck sitting on the ground in front of him. Anger hit me like a freight train, and I quickly walked into the room. I pushed Wesley back on the bed and stood in front of him.
Beck glared up at me, clearly annoyed at me. Wes tried to move me, talking about something, but I could hear anything other than ringing. I was focused on Beck and all of his movements, making sure he wasn't going to hurt Wes.
Beck smirked as he stood up, his body towering over mine, but his eyes were cold. He leaned in and whispered, "Don't say I didn't warn you." A cold chill ran down my spine, and Beck turned around and left the room.
We had to get out of here, and soon.
Wesley's POV
"Angelica!" I yelled, watching Angel jump at my tone. This was the first time I have used her full name in almost a year. She looked down at me, confused and scared. It was a look I knew well, even when she tried her best to hide it. "Are you okay?"
She just stared at me, for a long moment, before shaking her head and laughing shakily. "Yeah, I'm fine." she said, looking at the door. "Just lost in thought." Her voice got quieter as she spoke. I frowned, looking at the door for a moment before standing up and squishing her face between my hands.
"Mhm... Wesley?" she said, confused.
"Don't make that face." I said, seriously. She looked down at me and smiled as much as she could, but we both knew it was forced. She always gave me these smiled when she was in pain or knew something bad was going to happen.
She raised her hands, and I gasped, knowing what was about to happen. I quickly turned to run away from her, but she grabbed me and pulled me back onto the bed.
"No!" I screamed, trying to get away. "Don't do this! Angel!" She smiled down at me, actually happy this time.
"You asked for this, little brother." she said, before attacking my sides. I started laughing and squirming beneath her. I was laughing so hard, I thought I was going to pee my pants.
Suddenly, the door busted open and Peter stood on the other side, staring at us. Angel jumped and quickly blocked my body completely from the door.
"What's going on?" Peter asked, looking at her. I watched her body relax and she sat on the bed next to me. This could only mean that she trusted him, so I knew I could too. Angel doesn't give out her trust easily, so he must have done something incredible to earn it.
"Angel was tickling me." I said, smiling. Peter looked between us, confused, but nodded anyways.
"Alright..." he said, slowly. "Just, keep it down from now on. Beck will get upset if he had heard you two."
"What? Did he leave?" Angel asked and Peter nodded.
"He had... A meeting to attend to and asked me to watch over you guys while he was gone." he said. Angel tsked and looked away from him, clearly annoyed.
"We don't need a babysitter." she snarled at Peter. Peter put his hands up in surrender, obviously not wanting to fight with her.
"I know that, ma'am." he said. He turned around to walk out of the room, but paused, looking back. "Just a friendly warning to you, Angelica. If you keep up this attitude with Beck, he will not hesitate to put you in your place. He don't care if you're a man, woman or child, he doesn't take well to disrespect."
Angel stood up, hands on her hips and hissed, "And what place is that?" Peter smirked at us, wickedly, and left the room without another word. In that moment, I no longer trusted him or anyone else in this house. I looked up at Angel and I watched her body start to shake, probably thinking about what Beck would do to her.
"Angel?" I asked. Without wasting another second, she turned and pulled me into her embrace. She started whispering something to me, but the only thing I could think about was all the bad things that could happen to Angel.
Again.
