Chapter 5: Picture Perfect Beck's POV I watched some redhead cling onto my new toy, crying like a little baby. I heard her yelling "Angel", so I was guessing that was my toy's name, but I wasn't sure if it was her real name or a nickname she had gotten. It really irritated me that someone was there touching my property, but I pushed that feeling down as I watched the stupid male from before pull the blubbering female away. My toy shook her head before returning to work. She just happened to glance over while I was staring at her and a scowl grew on her face. She walked towards me and I couldn't help but to smirk. My eyes roamed her body and I noticed how her jeans seemed to curve with every part of her body. It made me want to reach out and - "Can I help you?" an irritated voice asked, interrupting my thoughts. I looked up at her and saw piercing blue eyes glaring down at me. My smirk grew and as it did, her glare deepened. "Yeah, you can help me, but I'll need it later tonight." I said, winking at her. Her eyes went wide as she realized what I was talking about. "Or we can do it right now. Right here." I rubbed the table as I imagined bending her over it. Her scowl returned and she put her hands on her hips, throwing it out to the right side. "You know, sometimes I think it may be better for you to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than opening it and removing any doubt of it." she snapped. I put my hand on my heart and faked a sad look on my face. "You wound me." I said, laughing. "Sorry 'bout that. I'm really trying to see things from your perspective, but I can't seem to get my head that far up my ass." she said. "Ouch. Where do you get all these comebacks from?" I asked, leaning forward. "Out of my brain, something you don't use very much from the looks of it." she said, smirking. It was starting to annoy me that she kept insulting me like that, but I maintained my cool and just stared at her. I continued to stare at her until her smirk disappeared and her scowl came back. "Take a picture, it'll last longer. I smirked and pulled out my phone. I brought it up and quickly took a photo of her before she could say or do anything. She looked surprised when I took it and it made me laugh. "I didn't mean it literally." she said, reaching for my phone. I pushed the phone down my pants and leaned back, waiting to see if she would go for it. She didn't. "Literally or not, I'm still keeping it." I said, smiling. She glared at me and walked away, annoyed. I couldn't help myself, but I stared at her ass as she walked away. It was nice and plump. I wanted to go up behind her, wrap my hands around it and sink my teeth into it's tender flesh. "Beck." a male voice called my name, and I looked up and saw Patrick walking towards me. He smiled at me as he slid into the spot opposite of me. "Hey, man, how've you been?" "I've been alright. You?" I asked and he shrugged. "Same." he said and I nodded. I looked around and didn't see his puppy anywhere. Normally the b***h would be attached to side. "She's at Lucy's house. There's some huge party tonight and she has to get ready for it." Patrick said, reading my mind. I nodded, thankful that she wasn't here. "So, what are you doing here?" I asked. Patrick laughed and shook his head. "I could ask you the same thing." he said, smiling. "Dude, you've been here three hours now. How much longer so you expect to be here?" I sighed and looked at my toy. "Don't know yet." I said. Patrick followed my gaze and looked at Angel. I wanted to smack him and tell him not to look at her, but I didn't. "Don't man." he warned. My eyes snapped back to him and I glared. "Don't what?" I asked, angrily. I didn't like the fact that it sounded like he was telling me what to do right now. If he wasn't my best friend, I would have dragged him outside and beat him like there was no tomorrow. Patrick just shook his head and stayed quiet, knowing what might happen if he does speak. My glare hardened for a moment before I looked away from him. "We have a meeting in ten, and you need to be there." Patrick said, standing up. I nodded my head and watched Patrick leave. Angelica's POV I looked over and saw the obnoxious guy from before waving to me. I sighed and walked over to him, hoping he wasn't going to take another picture of me. If he did, I might just punch him in the face and not worry about getting fired. "Yes?" I asked, my voice tight. The male looked up at me, his jaw clenched, and he seemed to fuming about something. My best guess was his friend said something bad to make him angry. Just great. "Check." he said, his voice deep and growly. Before I walked away, I heard his friend call him "Beck", so I think that was his name, but I wasn't sure. "Yes, sir." I said, nodding. I was trying to be polite because even though he looked like some rich boy, he looked like he wasn't afraid to throw punches when he was angry; male or female. I walked back towards the counter and Jack met me there, giving me a look of concern. "What happened? He didn't bother you or anything?" he asked and I shook my head. "No, he just wants his check." I said. "What happened earlier? It looked like you were trying to grab his phone or something." Jack asked. "Oh, yeah. He took a picture of me earlier and I was trying to get his phone to delete it." I said, honestly. I never really liked lying. Once you start to lie to people, especially the ones that put a lot of trust in you, it'll be hard for them to ever believe you again, so I try not to lie if I don't have too. "Want me to talk to him?" Jack asked, puffing out his chest, trying to be really manly. I laughed and shook my head at that. I might be a girl, but I can handle myself. "Nah, I got it handled." I said. "What do you think about him?" Jack asked. I looked at him confused. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Uh, he's weird, creepy and annoying. But, all of the girls who had seen him all went crazy and assumed he was a model or something. Apparently, he's 'picture perfect' or some crap like that." I reached over the counter and grabbed his check. Just as I was pulling away, Jack grabbed my wrist, stopping me. "Be careful around him. I don't trust that guy." Jack said. I looked at his face and saw him glaring at something over my shoulder. I looked over and saw it was Beck that he was glaring at. Not only that, but Beck was glaring right back at him, his eyes glancing down at Jacks hand. "Why?" I asked. I didn't even plan on getting involved with him in the first place, so I don't really understand why Jack was telling me this. And I don't like being told what to do and what Jack said sounded more like a command rather than friendly advice or a warning. Jack ignored my question and kept glaring at Beck, which Beck returned. I frowned and ripped my arm out of Jack's grip. "Listen here, I don't care what you do and you shouldn't care about what I do. And what I do is none of you damn business, so get out of it. Also, getting dragged into your petty little testosterone fight isn't really making me happy, so why don't you leave me out of it." Jack's eyes snapped back to me. "What?" he asked, sounding confused. His eyebrows knitted together and his head tilted to the left side, slightly. "I said, I don't want to part of your stupid dominance or territorial battles." I snapped. "It's annoying and useless." "It's not like that, Angel." Jack said. I rolled my eyes and walked away. "Whatever." I said. I hated it when guys looked at women like they are toys and they own them. My father does that to Melanie and sometimes he beats her too, especially if she glances at other guys wrong. I felt bad for her, in that aspect, but that's it. I'm not going to be like that. Ever. I won't let any man rule over me and have them decide what I should do and I shouldn't do. Not by Jack, or Beck, or my father, nobody. I walked over to the table and saw Beck was still glaring at Jack. I stepped in front of his sight of Jack, to block off their resentment of each other. I dropped the check on the table and Beck smirked, leveling his eyes to my chest. I sighed, used to this, and put my arms over my chest to block his view. "You're finally back." Beck said, finally raising his eyes to meet mine. "Are you going to pay the check or stare at my chest all day?" I snapped. His smirk grew wider and so did my need to smack it right off his face. "Do you really want to hear my answer?" he asked. "Not really." I said. I turned around and started to walk away, when I heard laughter behind me. I turned around and saw Beck laughing. "I like you, Angel." he said, leaning forward. My eye twitched and head tilted slightly as he said my name. I wonder how he found out. I don't wear a nametag or anything, and nobody was around him all day. "You're and interesting girl." "Thanks, Beck," I said, using his name. His eye also twitched as I said his name. "But, I don't feel the same way." Beck laughed again. He pulled out his wallet, threw some cash on the table and walked towards me. I stepped back and he wrapped his arm around my waist, pulled me closer to him. His smell surrounded me and overtook my senses. He smelled strongly of Old Spice and blood, and I know what that smells like. His breathe hit my ear and I repressed a shiver. "I will be back soon, my little Angel." he whispered into my ear. His mouth was so close to my ear that I could feel his lips moving against my earlobe as he spoke. He released me and left, but not before giving me a wink. I returned a glare to him. After he was gone, I continually rubbed my earlobe the rest of the day.
