Chapter 8: A Day with Wesley
Angelica's POV
After work was done, I walked towards the school. Wes was waiting outside, leaning against the rock wall just barely inside of the building's property line. There were a bunch of girls hanging around in front of him, but Wes looked like he couldn't care less.
I stopped and observed the situation my brother was in, because this was the first time I've ever seen this. Normally, Wes would come to the diner and wait for me, but I got off early today, so he was waiting for me. My brother was leaning up against a tall rock wall, left leg back and his hands in his pockets; stereotypical "cool" guy pose.
And four different girls were all crowding; a blonde, a brunette, a redhead and one with black hair, and they were all different in some way.
The blonde was tall, five foot six, and that didn't include the four inch heels she was wearing now. She wore a cheerleading outfit and had a bright pink bookbag on her back, her pom-poms sticking out the opening. Her long, curly hair was pulled up into a high ponytail, and she was currently twirling a piece around her finger.
The brunette was short, barely five foot from the looks of it. Unlike the blonde, this one was dressed in baggy clothes that hid her almost obvious figure, and a beat-up messenger bag was hanging on her right hip. Her black hipster glasses framed her face as her long hair was falling in her face. She was now pushing her bangs out of her face as she blushed beat-red as she looked at Wesley.
The redhead was in between the two, five foot three or four, and was stick thin. She wore a pair of jeans, that looked like they were falling down on her, black combat boots and a band t-shirt. Her pale skin helped show off her freckles and blue eyes. She reminded me of Lexa, except for the glasses weren't present on this girl, and her hair was cut pixie short.
The last girl had curly black hair and looked to be five foot five. Her chocolate skin made her stand out between the girls and I watched her sassily put her hand on her hip as she talked. She wore a white tank top, black sneakers and a black flowing skirt.
And all these beautiful, different girls were standing in front of my brother, who looked like he didn't even know they were there. I felt like going over and smacking him, but before I could make a move, he noticed me.
As soon as he looked at me, his demeanor changed. He went from "cool and aloof" to "excited puppy about to get a treat".
"Angel!" he yelled as he rushed over to me, smiling happily. Oh, no. You i***t!
I saw all four girls glaring at me as my brother wrapped his arms around me and picked me up, twirling me around. I frowned, as the pain from this morning returned in full force, and at the fact that Wes ignored them, and as soon as he set me down, I smacked him in the head.
"Ow, what was that for?" he asked. I put my hands on my hips as I glared at him.
"What is wrong with you, boy?" I asked and he looked at me confused.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"I mean is, there are four pretty girls trying to get your attention, but you were ignoring them." I snapped. Wes looked at me confused and then over at the girls as they glared and whispered to each other.
"Who? Them?" he asked and I nodded. "Oh, they weren't trying to get my attention. They were in my class, so they were talking to each other about it. They saw me waiting by myself and didn't want to leave me alone. I think they felt bad for me or something."
I pinched the bridge of my nose and shook my head. "I'm sorry to break it to you, but they don't feel sorry for you, they like you." I said. "You should go over and talk to them." I tried to push him towards the group of girls, but Wes stepped away from me and shook his head.
"But, I don't want to talk to them." he said. "Even if they did like me, I'm not interested in them." I scoffed and was going to speak, but Wes interrupted me with a huge smile. "You are the only girl I need in my life."
I laughed and shook my head. "It's nice that you think so," I said, pulling him into a side hug as we turned away from the girls and started walking down the street. "But, you won't say that for very long. You'll meet some girl and fall in love."
"Not interested." he said.
"Not your choice either." I said and he looked confused. "Well, whether you like it or not, you will meet someone, talk to them, enjoy their company and before you realize it, you will fall in love with them."
"Are you in love with someone?" he asked and I laughed.
"No, but maybe one day." I said.
"With Jack?" he asked.
"Maybe, but I don't think so." I said and he laughed.
"That's good." he said, smiling. "Because you can do better." I laughed.
"So, Jack's not good enough? Than who is?" I asked and he shook his head, putting his finger to his lips.
"Can't tell you. You may leave me when you figure it out." he said, smiling. I rolled my eyes and pushed him lightly.
"I could never leave you." I said.
"I know." he said.
"Is that so? Come here!" I yelled, chasing him. He laughed as we ran through the park.

"And as you can see, the house is fully furnished and everything." the real estate agent said, facing towards us. I looked around the living room and nodded. I looked over at Wes and saw him looking around too.
"Can you give us a moment?" I asked. She smiled and nodded before turning around and walking into the kitchen. I walked over to Wes and smiled. "So, what do you think?"
He looked over at me and shrugged. "It's cool." he said.
"Cool?" I asked. "You don't like it, do you?"
"No, I do like it." he said, quickly. He rubbed the back of his neck. "It's just ..... Don't you think it's too expensive?"
"What are you talking about?" I asked. "It's only sixty grand. I almost have the exact amount to buy this house. And it'll be our house, so money doesn't matter." He smiled softly.
"Yeah, but I don't want you spending all your money on something this big. It'll only be the two of us, so it's not like we need it this big." he said.
"Trust me, after we move out and get used to living outside the realm of hatred, we will be okay with having space." I said. I ran my hand through his hand and he shrugged.
"Alright then. I trust you." he said. I sighed and turned to talk to the real estate agent again.
"Alright, so we thought about it and we would like to buy it." I said and she started clapping. "But, can we get the price down to fifty-nine thousand? I don't have the sixty right now."
"I'll see what I can do." she said, nodding. We shook hands and I grabbed Wes' hand as we started our walk home. We were in the next town over, so it was going to take us about an hour to get home, so we had to hurry if we wanted to make it on time for our curfew.
