Shopping

She went towards the car and looked at Jeff, who was already outside, leaning on it, waiting for her. His dark brown hair covering his forehead creating a shadow under his amber eyes. Jessica was walking angrily towards him, and as soon as she reached there, she asked. "What in the world do you mean that I will be your date on a party?" She said in one breath. He tilted his head to look at her and said, "Hello to you too, Princess. I think I made it quite clear with that message." She rolled her eyes and added, "I know, but what I mean is, why me out of all the girls?" "If you're implying that I'm too charming and handsome to choose any girl I want, then you're right. And you should be flattered I chose you out of all the girls I could choose." He said with a wide smirk plastered on his face, which made Jessica even more frustrated than she was. "You didn't answer my question!" "Well, my friend is hosting a party and I chose you to come. I would really love to discuss that more, but there's no time to lose." "Ughh, where will you take me again?" "For shopping, obviously. I don't want to be with a date who will wear clothes, or whatever you call it, like that." "Excuse me?!" "You're excused. Let's go now." He said and walked towards the passenger's door and opened it for her. "Ladies first." He motioned for her to get in the car with a grin on his face. "If you're expecting me to tell you,"What a gentleman, " you better forget it." She said as she walked towards the door. "Bold of you to assume I'm being a gentleman to you." He retorted, leaving Jessica reddened speechless. She rolled her eyes once again and got in. The drive was a very a very quiet and awkward one. No one had uttered a word with the other for a moment. "So... why did you break up with my brother?" Jessica rested her chin on her hand, looking out of the window. "It's not like you care..." "What if I do." She sighed and answered him. "I finally realized what kind of a jerk he is. He constantly believes Scarlett over me. He used to be... different. He wouldn't believe a word anyone else said about me. At least in the past. But now, it's like he's under Scarlett's magic spell or something and will believe everything she says. He targets me because of her. Who would want to stay with him." "Well... at least you know now. Better later than never." "I guess..." But it was already too late. She had to die to figure it all out. Otherwise, she might still have been with him. When they finally reached the mall, her and Jeff went to many shops to find good clothes for both of them. In the end, Jessica bought an emerald dress, matching with her eyes. It was a front slit, an off shoulder gown from a satin fabric, shining under the lights. She also bought silver ankle strap high heels that match well with her dress and jewelry. Jeff bought a suit with a black suit jacket, a black tie, and a grey waistcoat. He also bought black shoes to match his suit. Unexpectedly, Jeff offered to pay for the clothes. But then he, of course, had to make a comment saying, "You probably don't have the money to pay for it." making Jessica even more irritated with him. Now they were again on Jeff's car, on their way back to Jessica's house. "Had fun, Princess?" Jessica rolled her eyes on his words. "Can you stop calling me Princess already?" "Nope!" He stopped at the red light and looked at her. "You didn't answer my question." "No, I didn't since I was with you." "Aww, but why? Am I not handsome or charming enough for you?" "Stop lying to yourself like that. You will start believing that you actually are." He was handsome and charming, actually. Very much. Maybe even for Jessica, but, of course, she would never admit that. Especially to him. They hated each other, and it would stay like that. You don't flatter the person you hate. After they reached her house, Jessica opened the door and was about to leave when she heard Jefferson say something. "Did i mention that I told my friend that I will bring my girlfriend?" "What?!" But before Jessica could say something more, he closed the door and drove off there. Now she knew that not only did she have to go to a party with him, but also pretend to be his girlfriend. Great, just great... It couldn't get any worse. Jessica took a bath to wash off the smell of Jeff's cologne, ate something light for the night, and sat down to relax and talk with Harry for a bit. By the time she was done, it was already night, so she got ready to go to bed and sleep. She needed to sleep well. Tomorrow would be a big day after all... She usually didn't like going to events like this, especially if she didn't know who the host of that party was or the people who would be there. And for her bad luck, the only person she would know there was her enemy. She regretted making that bet with him back then. No, she regretted meeting him. Thinking of this, she couldn't help but wonder why was he even like this since they met? Had she done something to him without knowing? I guess she will never know...
