CORRIGAN'S POV
I can't move my feet to follow her. I can't even breathe properly after the princess has left the hall.
After the horrific happenings in Madonia, I have returned home to find some peace but instead I'm going through another heartbreak. Diego has killed three of my best soldiers; Ted, Jacob and Milo and forced me into accepting his demands. I wouldn't have succumbed to his threats it if weren't for the lives of my soldiers he used as a leverage. I had to save them by giving in to his demand for gold and loads of supplies.
Unfortunately, Father received the news of my failure even before I could return to the Kingdom to explain. He was so pissed at me to the point that he couldn't bare to look at my face or listen to what I have to say. I have failed my mission as a soldier
