I felt a warm, rough hand softly caressing my head. Some murmurs can be heard, back in my head, but I can't force my eyes to be open. It feels like they are stuck as my mind is trapped inside the darkness. The soothing warm hand helped my breaths to become normal as I feel somewhat calmer yet can't summon enough courage to open my eyes and escape this darkness.
“ Dad…”
I barely managed to say those words as I feel my throat dry. I am awake, fully aware of my surroundings, just my eyes and mind is bound to the shadow as there is not even a glimpse of light.
My breath revved, and my heart throbbed as I started running in that imaginary gloaming labyrinth when I see those golden brown hairs, shining luminously in that dusk.
“ Dad…”
