Now it was the following week, and today I was determined to arrive early enough to catch Maisie before she left for work. I hoped she could shed some light on the odd shift in Jack’s behavior. I also wanted to talk to her about her and my father. Apparently their date last week had been a success. Dad had seen her on both Saturday and Sunday. As I approached the house, I was glad to feel the arrival of spring in the air.
