Ariana nearly choked on her own spit. She looked at him with wide eyes, wondering where he had learnt to speak so smoothly and convincingly at the same time. His delivery was flawless and emotional. If she didn’t know better, she would think he actually had feelings for her.
Hell! Her heart was starting to question the obvious truth.
By the time he was done with his Oscar-worthy act, Linda’s eyes were filled with tears, her emotions written clearly on her face. She turned to Ariana and touched her cheek.
“If it is what my baby wants, I have nothing against it.” She said. “Is this what you want, my dear? Do you want to marry this man?”
Ariana’s heart twisted painfully, the guilt eating her. She knew her mother was asking her to be sure she wasn’t getting into another Dennis situation.
