The city was beautiful, especially at night. It was calm and quiet and very breezy. We pulled up in front of a hotel and there were people standing there ready to welcome us.
"Sir, we have a little problem", one of the men said.
"What is it?"
"This hotel is fully booked and they're asking us to move to the other one down the street".
"I don't want to go to a hotel down the street", Mr. Greenwood said.
"I know sir, but-"
He rolled his eyes and headed inside the hotel.
He went straight to the receptionist.
"Caleb Greenwood, I'm in the VIP list ", he said.
"Oh I'm so sorry Mr Greenwood, I already told them about the situation, we received your message for a VIP suit but they're all fully booked, we only have regular suits, maybe you can stay there until tomorrow then we can get you a-"
"Where's your manager", he said cutting him off immediately.
"Sir he's just going to tell you the same thing", the receptionist said.
"Get me your manager", he said as if he was trying to control his temper.
The man left to fetch him.
"Sir we can just go to the place they got for us, it's comfortable and it's almost like an apartment", one of the men behind me said.
Mr Greenwood turned to them, "Where's the Launch happening?",he asked.
"This hotel sir".
" So why would I want to go to an apartment down the street?".
The man shut up immediately.
Few seconds later, the receptionist appeared with the manager.
"Good evening sir", he greeted.
"I want to book a VIP suit here", Mr. Greenwood said.
"I'm deeply sorry sir but all our VIP suits have been booked and we only have reservations for regular suits, but we did get a reservation for another VIP suit down the -"
"Where's the owner of this hotel?", He asked.
Gosh, he really doesn't want to go to the hotel down the street.
"I am sir, I own and manage it", the manager said.
"Good, Michelle please my cheque booklet ", he said.
I immediately search his bag and found it and handed it over to him.
"I just came back from a fucken long flight from Washington and you really think you're going to stress me", he said signing the cheque.
He turned to the manager, "How much does this hotel cost?", he asked.
"What?", the man asked honestly confused.
He rolled his eyes, "How Much do you make a year from running this place?", he asked again.
"That's a bit of a confidential information ", the manager said.
Mr Greenwood gave him that stare that he gives everyone.
"Roughly about a $300k ", the manager said.
Mr Greenwood signed a cheque and handed it to him.
"Here, have this, now get a VIP suit with two rooms then a Standard suit with four rooms in it for my men, I'll pick up the ownership documents and do all the signing later in the morning when I've had some real sleep.
Then after that you're suspended from work till whenever, I'm giving you 10 minutes to arrange everything. If you stay longer than that I might actually fire you completely, now please show me where the bar is and get me cocktails, I had a rough flight ".
When I say everyone's mouth was hanging, I mean everyone.
Wait hold up,let me get this straight. Did Mr Greenwood just buy this hotel for a year because they refused to give him a room here and he didn't want to go to the hotel down the street?
It was then at that moment that I knew that I was dealing with an actual billionaire.
