~GRACE’S POV~ You ever just sit in a house that’s so big, so luxurious, and yet so empty you feel like you’re drowning in air? Yeah. That was me. Curled into the corner of my father’s overpriced suede couch, knees tucked under me, scrolling aimlessly through my phone, like the broken ex-wife I now was. Not even watching the trash TV show screaming at me from the wall-sized flat screen. I just needed noise. Any noise. Something to drown out the humiliation still clawing at my throat. And then, like the universe couldn’t resist adding insult to injury, I heard it. That cocky, dragging sound of flip-flops slapping against the floor. Leo. Of course. He sauntered in like he owned the place—which, technically, he did. At least in his own deluded mind. He was shirtless. Typical Leo.
