I hold her hand as she climbs onto the bed and I follow her immediately after. The lights are turned off save the bedside lamp, I take her in my arms hugging her closely from behind. This is what was missing from earlier, I’m glad to finally have it now.
“How are you holding up? You were quiet all the ride home, are you alright” Nova asks, her voice soft and gentle.
I shrug, unable to articulate the emotions flowing within me. “I am doing just fine, I guess, only that I missed you so much, I thought I’d go crazy.”
I tickle her and she wiggles like a happy child. I stretch over and nibble on her ear a bit before planting a kiss on her neck.
