After my encounter with Derek, I didn't see him for the next two days. I kept working in the hospital and every day, more injured warriors were brought in for me to treat.
Seeing how more injured Rogues kept filing in daily in large numbers, I knew that the war wasn't over yet. Which implies that Derek was still interested in me. He was my saving grace at this point and I knew he would find a way to take me away from Ryker as long as he was alive. And the only way was defeating Ryker; if that happened, my people would leave, too.
