I shut my eyes, exhaling sharply while battling Derek's incessant mumblings that were gradually taking over my mind.
The shuttering of cameras clicked continuously and I tried to change my posture.
'leave me alone. Please leave me alone.' I mumbled repeatedly, and as though in response to my plea, the connection ended. I wasn't sure if Derek cut it off or if I was suddenly able to fight it but I was relieved when I no longer heard his voice.
I looked up at Ace and smiled at him again before repositioning myself and glancing at the cameras. It was the first time Ace was revealing his face to the public and I noticed the media was more interested in that. I was just glad their attention wasn't completely on me and Ace was so sweet to keep me covered.
