Chapter 6

1035 Words
It took Jade exactly two weeks after finding out Perrie’s last name for her to cave and finally stalk her on social media. She was on her tour bus being driven from Madison to Louisville with her tour-mates, and after several hours on the road she finally gave in and searched “Perrie Edwards” first on Twitter. She recognized Perrie from her avatar and scrolled through her tweets. Perrie clearly wasn’t a big tweeter, but when she did tweet, they were generally funny tweets and usually about either Leigh-Anne or Jesy. After getting her fill of the woman’s wit, she opened i********:. Jade was happy to learn that Perrie’s profile was public so she was able to properly creep on the girl. She had no qualms about creeping on her, and if the situation had been different, she would have told Perrie that that was exactly what she was doing. But she couldn’t risk Perrie asking for her social media accounts in return. Perrie was even more beautiful than Jade had expected. She had, of course, seen a handful of selfies sent to her by the woman herself, but they were generally funny faces or in bad lighting, without the benefits of the filters offered by the social media application. She was back-stalking Perrie and was looking at a picture of the blonde and Jesy on the night of Jesy’s engagement when Cher startled her from behind. “Who are they?” the younger girl asked. Cher got bored easily and Jade had quickly learned that the sixteen-year-old, and youngest member of the tour, had a tendency to sneak up on either Jade or any of the Fifth Harmony sisters when she was bored. Regardless of the fact that she knew Cher snuck up on her often, Jade was still startled and promptly dropped her phone. Cher then quickly dove in and picked up the Galaxy 6 edge and inspected the photo. “Whoever they are, they’re gorgeous.” She spoke. “Can I please have my phone back?” Jade huffed, holding her hand out expectantly. Cher promptly waved Jade away, a smirk appearing on her face and she scrolled down the screen. “This photo is from 13 weeks ago. You are doing some serious stalking on whoever Princess Pezza.” “Cher, seriously, give it back,” Jade demanded, her tone harsher than it really needed to be, but the last thing she needed was for Cher to ‘accidentally’ like a photo of Perrie’s and ruin everything. “Not until you tell me who this girl is,” Cher deadpanned in return. Jade glared at the younger girl, “No.” Feet away from them, Dinah and Normani had paused their game of cards hearing the argument between Jade and Cher. Curious, they turned around in their seats. “What’s going on?” the eldest member, Ally, asked. “Nothing,” Jade asserted at the exact same time Cher grinned, “Jade is creeping on some girl and she won’t tell me who she is. Meaning that either she’s crushing on someone, or secretly dating her.” Normani and Ally wore matching grins as they gestured for Cher to show them a photo. Easily relenting, Cher handed the phone to them. “Which one is she?” Normani asked. From her seat, Jade could see the photo they were now look at was one of Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jonathan. Jonathan had an arm around each girl and a wide grin on his face, while the girls under his arms were both making faces of disgust. “The blonde,” Jade muttered under her breath, knowing she was going to lose the battle. “That’s not the best picture, but she’s cute,” Cher nodded. “The guy in the middle is way more my type,” Ally chimed in. “I dunno, I think the other girl is hot as f**k,” Normani added, causing Ally to whip her head in the direction of her younger sister. “What?” Mani shrugged, “She is.” “Camila! Lauren! Come up here!” Cher yelled to the back of the over-the-top tour bus, “We’re stalking Jade’s girlfriend.” The two girls quickly dropped the controllers to the X-Box game they were playing and hustled up towards the front of the bus. “You have a girlfriend?” the seventeen-year-old, and youngest member of Fifth Harmony, Dinah asked with a grin on her face. Jade simply groaned and pressed her palm against her forehead while Cher showed a photo to Camila and Lauren. There was no going back now. Having Karl know about Perrie was one thing, but the gaggle of girls who she toured with? That was an accident waiting to happen. It made her realize that she couldn’t keep the secret from Perrie much longer. “Can I please have my phone back?” Jade asked, her head against the plush seat and eyes closed. “Afraid we’ll accidentally like something that will let her know you were stalking her?” Camila giggled. At that remark, Jade quickly sat upright and her eyes sprung open. “You can’t,” she insisted quickly. At that point she knew she had to tell the girls the truth. It was the only thing that would save her and whatever she and Perrie had together. “Before you do anything that will make me hate you literally forever, let me just explain who Perrie is.” Seeing the look of terror on their headliner’s face, the five girls all nodded. “Perrie is a cool name,” Lauren mentioned before letting Jade continue. “I don’t know what Perrie and I are, but I really like her and I really can’t afford to f**k it up. And she has no idea that I’m Amelia.” “What?” came the simultaneous gasps from the six other girls.
