While Perrie got ready at the hotel room, Jade was finishing up her concert, a concert she completely kicked the ass of. She even gave an impromptu second encore for her audience. Performing had helped calm some of Jade’s nerves and had turned her from nervous to excited. She was ready to finally see Perrie again.
After the show ended, Jade was a sweaty mess from dancing around on stage in the bright lights, but luckily their venue had a shower for her to use in her dressing room before she got changed for the night. As she pulled on her black slacks and dark blue silk shirt, she began to think about the outfits Jesy and Leigh-Anne had picked out for Perrie. She hoped that Perrie was able to find something she liked. Jade hadn’t been able to choose between Jesy and Leigh-Anne’s suggestions so she’d ended up just buying all the options. It was definitely a celebrity rich-girl move to buy more than necessary, but Jade would do anything for Perrie to be happy. And when you’re raised to never even think about money, sometimes showing you care means spending more money than needed.
After her tour mates wished her luck, Jade hopped in to her black suburban which took her to the location of her well-planned date. It was quiet when she arrived, just the way she’d planned it to be. As she waited for Perrie to arrive, Jade took picture of the sun setting over the Seine and instagrammed it.
@AmeliaThirlwall: Loved playing Paris this afternoon! Now I get to spend the evening with my girlfriend on her birthday <3
After the first show in DC when Amelia first revealed that she had ‘someone special,’ people had been commenting all over social media, trying to figure out who her secret girlfriend was. On multiple occasions Perrie and Jade had discussed the fact that they didn’t want Amelia to hide the fact that she had a girlfriend, but that they didn’t want Perrie subject to public scrutiny. As a result, together they’d decided that Jade would post regularly on social media about her relationship so as not to seem like she was hiding anything, but while still keeping Perrie’s identity private. It gave her fans a little something to go on without ruining her relationship with Perrie.
Of course only moments after posting the i********:, comments were rolling in like crazy, asking Amelia who it was she was dating and offering theories based on the fact that she had given up the detail of when her girlfriend’s birthday was. Jade, of course, did respond to the commenters, and left them to theorize on their own because only several moments after posting the picture, a car arrived at the dock.
Jade watched as Perrie exited the vehicle and her heart sped up, butterflies fluttered in her stomach as if they were on ecstasy. She took in the dress and heels her girlfriend was wearing and the way she’d curled her blonde hair so that it bounced around her shoulders. She saw the way her lips formed a smile brighter than the sunset that surrounded them as blue eyes met brown.
The brunette had been standing on the dock beside the boat that would be taking them around the city that night, but as soon as she made eye contact with her girlfriend, she couldn’t stand by and patiently wait any longer. Before she knew it, her feet were taking her away from the boat and up the dock towards the blonde. They met in the middle of the dock, quickly wrapping their arms around each other. They held each other tightly as if still trying to grasp the fact that they were together again.
“You’re here,” Jade sighed, pulled Perrie even closer as she spoke into the side of her neck.
“We made it,” Perrie spoke in return. Jade could almost feel Perrie’s smile on her shoulder. “We made it forty-eight days.”
They loosened their grips on each other so that they could actually look at one another. Their gazes didn’t last very long; however, as they drifted from eyes to lips and quickly their lips were meeting. When they pulled apart at last, they looked each other with lazy smiles. “Happy birthday,” Jade grinned.
“Oh!” Perrie’s eyes widened as if she’d just remembered something. Jade looked at the woman questioningly, urging her to explain herself. “I almost forgot!”
“What did you almost forget?” Jade asked with a laugh.
“I love you.”
Jade’s laugh caught in her throat upon hearing the girl’s statement. Perrie had spoken so matter-of-factly, like the statement was a Wikipedia fact she’d looked up ages ago and only just remembered. It was sweet and genuine, and to the point. It was fact, there was no questioning it. Despite all the complications in their lives and in their relationship, Jade knew that Perrie was certain about her love for Jade. And Jade felt the same.
“Me too,” the brunette responded with a smile, echoing the statement they’d been using the past week. “I am so in love with you Perrie Louise Edwards.”
The smile that spread on Perrie’s face warmed Jade from the inside out. She would do whatever it took to keep that smile on the girl’s face. She grasped Perrie’s hand and pulled her towards the boat. “Are you taking me on a boat ride?” Perrie asked.
“No, it’s actually a train in disguise,” Jade sassed back. So much of their relationship included silly sassing of one another that it came naturally. She placed a kiss on her girl’s cheek and nodded. “Yes Perrie, we’re going on a boat ride.”
As Jade helped Perrie on to the boat she watched as the blonde took in the vessel upon which they stood. It wasn’t the largest one Jade could have rented, but Jade had loved the cozy feel of it. It was just them, Gary and the captain. Gary and the Captain were at the front of the boat in a closed off area, leaving Perrie and Jade to have the back of the boat to themselves, set up with a two person table where their food sat under heat lamps.
Jade turned on the speakers as the boat started to leave the dock and led Perrie to the table where they sat catty-cornered next to each other.
“I can’t believe you planned all this for me,” Perrie stated in awe as she gestured around them.
“Did you not think I had it in me?” Jade asked, faking hurt.
“Oh I know you did,” Perrie shook her head, “You’re the biggest sap in the world. No one’s ever done something like this for me before. You know, flown me to Paris, stocked a closet full of clothes for me to choose from and take me on a dinner boat ride on the Seine.”
“What can I say?” Jade shrugged, “I’m pretty much the perfect girlfriend.”
“Did you cook for me too oh perfect girlfriend?” Perrie teased, gesturing to the meal in front of them.
Jade looked down at the steak and vegetables and laughed out loud. “I am the world’s worst cook, so no.”
“I knew you had to have a fault in you somewhere,” Perrie lifted up her fork and pointed it at Jade.
Jade looked at Perrie and saw the way the setting sun hit her pale skin and reflected off of her, giving her an almost orangey glow. She was almost ethereal looking. God, she loved that girl. “I guess I do,” she breathed softly. Perrie gave her questioning look, but Jade simply smiled at her and gestured for her to eat.
After they finished their meals, Jade stood up and extended her hand to Perrie. “Dance with me,” she spoke.
By now the sun had set, but between the lights coming from the streets of Paris and those on the boat, it was well lit enough for them to take in the scenery surrounding the Seine. That being said, they had more eyes for each other than for the sights surrounding them.
It didn’t take them long to get into a soft rhythm as they danced together, their bodies seemed to somehow know which way the other would go before they even moved. They were like magnets, attracted to each other and in sync with one another.
Jade had just placed a kiss on Perrie’s neck when the blonde pulled away abruptly.
