CHAPTER 3 BLAZE

Toby had been led to a chamber by a maid where he was to change into new clothes and take a bath. As he entered the chamber, the maid turned around and left, leaving him alone with his thoughts. He couldn't help but be overwhelmed by everything that had transpired in such a short span of time.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, he was lost in thought, trying to process the incredible revelations of the past few hours. The concept of genetic serum, unlocked genes, and evolving into an entirely new class of beings left him baffled. He muttered to himself, "I still can't wrap my head around everything that's happening."

As he sat there, lost in his thoughts, a foul odor suddenly infiltrated his senses. Toby scrunched up his face. "Did a rat die in here or something?" he mused aloud. But then he realized that the source of the stench was much closer to home.

In a moment of realization, he slowly raised his arm and brought his nose closer to his armpits. The stench that hit him was overwhelming, and he gagged at the unpleasant odor. "Oh, s**t, I stink!" he exclaimed, his own scent hitting him like a ton of bricks.

Without a moment to spare, Toby sprinted to the bathroom, leaving a trail of discarded clothes in his wake. He took a rough and frantic bath like he'd never done before, scrubbing every inch of his body as if trying to wash away the confusion and disbelief that had engulfed him.

After scrubbing himself clean, Toby emerged from the bathroom, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. He looked at himself in the mirror, staring at the reflection that met his eyes. With a smirk, he muttered, "I'm sure handsome."

But before he could fully revel in his newfound cleanliness and confidence, a thunderous BOOM reverberated through the chamber. The ground trembled, and the walls collapsed. Everything happened so fast that Toby was disoriented.

As he struggled to comprehend what had just occurred, he suddenly found himself buried under a pile of rubble. Fortunately, he hadn't been crushed, but he was trapped beneath the debris. In the dimly lit, cramped space, his thoughts raced as he tried to piece together the chaos that had unfolded.

"Darn it! I just took a bath," Toby grumbled to himself, realizing that he had managed to get clean only moments before this inexplicable event. Panic and confusion surged through him as he considered the possibility of a bomb detonating in the chamber. The questions raced through his mind. Why would this place be bombed? Who would target it? Was it the queen?

But amidst the chaos and his disoriented thoughts, Toby couldn't help but find his mind wandering back to the queen. He recollected her striking features, the grace in her presence, and, he couldn't help but smirk, her long legs. It was an odd moment to reminisce about, given the circumstances, but Toby just couldn't help himself

"Damn it Toby concentrate"

Toby's heart pounded in his chest as he realized the precariousness of his situation. He lay trapped beneath the rubble, the chamber around him in shambles, and the air filled with dust and debris. His thoughts raced as he fought to make sense of the chaos that had just unfolded.

He knew he couldn't stay there; he needed to free himself from the rubble. Pushing aside pieces of debris and carefully maneuvering through the confined space, Toby gradually managed to crawl out from under the collapsed chamber. As he emerged into the open, he took in the chaotic scene that greeted him.

The chamber was in ruins, with walls cracked and the ceiling partially caved in. Smoke and dust still hung in the air, making it difficult to see clearly. Toby cautiously made his way through the debris, his senses on high alert, trying to piece together what had just happened.

Toby cautiously navigated the maze of rubble that was once a majestic mansion, his eyes scanning the destruction for any signs of life. Amidst the chaos and debris, he came across a lifeless body. It was the scientist who had been experimenting on him just hours ago.

A sense of dread washed over Toby as he approached the corpse. The once brilliant scientist lay motionless, his body crushed by the weight of the fallen walls and ceilings. But what sent a shiver down Toby's spine was the gruesome sight before him. The scientist's lifeless form was pierced by a twisted metal rod, jutting out from his abdomen.

Toby's frown deepened as he studied the macabre scene. It was clear that the cause of death had been a result of more than just the collapsing chamber. The metal rod had been driven through the scientist's body with a vicious force, making it evident that this tragedy was no accident.Toby continued to search the wreckage for survivors, his heart heavy with the weight of the tragedy that had unfolded. The remnants of the once-majestic mansion now lay in ruins, and there were no signs of life among the debris. It was a grim scene, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of desolation.

As he wandered amidst the rubble, his senses suddenly tingled with an intense searing heat. His gaze was drawn to a surreal and breathtaking sight in the sky. Two figures were locked in a fiery battle, defying the laws of gravity and physics.

One of the figures, was wreathed in flames, the figure unleashed torrents of fire, sending blazing projectiles at her agile opponent, a man who displayed extraordinary speed and agility. The opponent dodged and weaved through the fiery onslaught as if he defied the laws of physics.

Amidst their incredible display of power, the battle escalated into a war of words. The man demanded answers from the flaming figure, his voice carrying a note of accusation. "Where is the Grade S serum you stole from us, Blaze?"

Blaze's response was filled with determination and defiance. "You have no proof that I stole anything from you!"

The tension between them mounted as the man retorted, "No one steals something from us and lives."

Blaze, her fiery aura burning brightly, was angry and livid. "You just came here and blew up my mansion. You think you can do as you like because of the faction behind you. I will make sure I bury you here."

The man, exuding an air of superiority, issued a warning that sent shivers down Toby's spine. "Blaze, you still don't know what you're into. When I report back to my faction, you'll be hunted down, and you can't stop me, even if I want to leave."

Before the confrontation could escalate further, the searing heat intensified, taking the man by surprise. He trembled in shock as he exclaimed, "You broke through."

Blaze replied sarcastically

"what do you think? I've been bidding my time since, I was due for a breakthrough"

With a deafening sonic boom, the man sped away, leaving Blaze in the sky, her flames burning even brighter as she pursued her fleeing adversary into the distance. The spectacle left Toby awestruck and bewildered, as though he had entered a world where the laws of reality were rewritten, and he was a mere spectator in a battle of superhuman abilities.

As the echoes of their battle and pursuit faded, Toby's thoughts began to crystallize. It struck him that the owner of the Grade S serum, the mysterious and coveted substance, was indeed here. And yet, for all the extraordinary powers and battles that had taken place, his presence had remained concealed from the world or maybe he was just ignored

"Well I guess it is a perk of being weak" he thought

Toby couldn't help but ponder the puzzling events of the past three years. There had been whispers of strange occurrences, unexplainable phenomena, and government cover-ups. It was as if the world had been shrouded in secrecy, and now, with the unfolding spectacle above him, things were beginning to make sense.
