Kael and Ryker conducted a thorough inspection of the pack defenses, searching for any vulnerabilities. As they walked along the perimeter, Kael noticed a section of the fence that seemed slightly weaker than the rest.
Ryker followed Kael’s gazed and nodded. “That’s the old eastern border.we’ve been meaning to reinforce it but it’s been overlooked”.
Kael’s eyes narrowed. “That’s exactly where I’d strike if I were planning an attack” Kael said.
Without hesitation, Kael and Ryker set to work reinforcing the weak section of the fence. They worked tirelessly, making sure it was sturdy enough to withstand an attack.
As they finished, Lyra approached them, her eyes scanning the area. “Good work, Ryker and Kael I think we’ve addressed the vulnerability”.
The pack elders demanded to see Lyra, their faces grave with concern. “Alpha, we have something important to share with you”, one of them said. “Something that could change everything”.
Lyra became curious “ what is it” she asked.
The elder hesitated before speaking, “it’s about your past Lyra, about your family and your heritage, we’ve kept it hidden for your protection but we can’t keep it secret anymore”.
The elder revealed that Lyra’s family had a dark secret, one that can put the entire pack at risk. Lyra’s ancestors had made a pact with powerful entity, trading protection and power for loyalty and sacrifice.
Lyra’s eyes widened as she listened, her mind reeling with the implications. She had always known she was different, but she had never imagined this.
As Lyra struggled to process the revelation about her family’s pact, a strange energy began to emanate from the woods. The air grew thick with an otherworldly presence, and Lyra felt an unsettling connection to it. Suddenly a figure emerged from the shadows, Tall, imposing and radiating power, the entity regarded Lyra with an unnerving intensity.
“Greetings Lyra” the entity said, its voice like thunder “I’ve been waiting for you, the pact your ancestors made with me is still in effect, and I’ve come to collect what’s owned”.
Lyra stood talk despite the fear creeping up her spine. “I won’t let you harm my pack”. She said her voice firm. The entity chuckled, its laughter like a crack of thunder. “I’m not here to arm your pack yet, you have a choice to make, either you fulfil the pact or face the consequences.
